Scooby Shootout date!!!!!!
#1
as promised scooby only shootout will be 27th or 28th september at Elvington.
date will be confirmed tomorrow but is deffo that weekend.
cost and event make up to be decided, mainly by you lot. need Peccy or whoever to organise a deposit if poss to see how many are serious about taking part, and therefore allow a proper cost to be set for you in advance.
the more cars confirmed the cheaper it gets.
if you want a cheaper day, it will be £30-40 per car to race, and will be 1/4m head to head with staging lights etc, plus a 1.25m top speed run. no handling cct
if you want the handling circuit set up, as per last time and TOTB2, cost will have to rise slightly, but if enough cars shouldnt be more than £70 max, maybe less.
if enough names confirm and pay deposit to (peccy/whoever) it will deffo be scooby's only, and you will be ok for spectating on the gate.
catering and toilets/ambulance/etc etc as usual all included whatever the event you choose to do
i'll leave it with you all for a week or so, before we make a decision as to format
cheers
chris
ps please post this wherever to get interest

POC, p off, it was set at Elvington ages ago.
It definately need sthe handling circuit, fact, will get far more attendees.
Will point Peccy this way, if he wants a deposit, i have the cheque book ready.
Steven
ps worried i am in Munich that weekend, but for the £170 cost of the flight, i would rather run at Elvington, than get pi55ed at Munich beer festival.

I'd need it, 1.25 miles ain't enough for us lower powered mortals. Mine will only get to about 150 in that space
Not bad for a 1.4 though
Oh and if I'm allowed to come and play, and if there's a handling circuit, please can it be like this year's TOTB rather than last year's. My car prefers the more open stuff (bloody twisties!)

confirmed now date is 28th september sunday
please get me details of which format the majority prefer, and a full list of names within a week or two if poss, so costs can be worked out for you.
spectating would be £6 per person on gate.
if you do want handling cct it can be set up real tight n twisty or more open /faster as per TOTB2
cheers

Would you have to change the name then?
Scooby-and-the-odd-mitsubishi-and-an-OctaviaRS-and-anything-else-that-appears Shootout?
Seriously, if I bring my 3 year old son along to see Davids carwould I really REALLY have to pay £12 for the 30 minutes he would allow me to stay and watch before he became bored? Surely not... If I would then I'm not coming Kids under 10 should get in free.

Kids under a certain age do get in free, cant remember what though.
There should be a handling circuit, and it should be similar to the TOTB2 practice day IMO.

Also need to think about rules...
...if there is a handling circuit will we allow slicks as using up road tyres is a tad expensive!!
I am definately up for it - although still might be on standard engine

To make it fair for everyone, they should be road tyres, not everyone can afford slicks David, or the wheels to put them on.
Just because i beat you on the handling

Steven,
my slicks are much cheaper than my road tyres...
...I will happily lend you them on the day for the handling circuit
Rannoch
PS If you hadn't beaten me on the handling circuit you would have been in a tractor...with baler on the back

PPS For all those moaning about Elvington - what is to stop you organising your own Southern Scooby-shoot-out...
...come to think of it - what are you doing in out Northern Section, get back where you belong
