Just curious as to what people would like to get out of being in a group like Cumbrian scoobs. Do people want to do stuff like go karting, go for runs out, visit places, etc. When I look at the other groups around the country there seems to be quite a few social gatherings but we only have our meet at the Sportsman.

I'm probably not the best person to reply to this question as I am the most unreliable member of the Cumbrian Scoobs...home, family and work stuff and all that.
You might not remember talking to me about a year ago at the shell station at Hardwick Circus. It was the evening after a Scoobyt meet "raid over the border", I had to leave the "raid" after about 2 miles to go home.
You chatted to me all about classics / weight / power etc ....made me feel part of the "scooby family".....BRILLIANT !!
I know exactly what you mean...Cumbria is a large area with lots of different owners. What I think is nice is that "part timers" like me are not excluded..
Midlife..
PS Smart BHP at the RR Day at Well Lane..you'd leave me for dead !!

Have you seen this post ?Lord Harding,
Just been talking to John (SubWRX)who is in Amsterdam at the mo.
He has met with the scoobs over there and has suggested starting on the Dutch BIG ONE.
I think he was referring to a meet rather than the local hooker.
Speak soon
Martin
maybe two invasions next year
Abbey better get tooled up with your mates !!!

Lord Harding,
Can you bring a couple of those dodgy vids with you to the next TTS meet. We don't have anything like that over this side of the Pennines.
Cheers

Its not a case of being Impreza biased, the point i'm raising is that we don't seem to do much as a group. You are more than welcome to come to the Sportsman for the monthly meet, who said it was purely for Imprezas?

Second Wednesday of each month, 7pm -ish for a crack and a meal. The next one is 8th October. The Sportsman is on the A66 near Penruddock. Its about 4miles west of Penrith.

Mark,
I'm not going anymore, everyone just took the p**s when I went. Brutus is well upset He's started falling to bits over it, creaking, groaning, crying....Its not pleasant I can tell you.
That said, I wouldn't mind a few visits to places (car related), maybe go-karting, race meetings at Croft/Knockhill, stuff like that.

Mark,
Would welcome the chance to discuss the events that the TTS have organised and maybe look at joint ventures for the future.
Planning another rolling road in the new year, possible trackday at croft, visit to Prodrive and Msport.
Revolution at Gateshead have recently put on a special evening opening for us. I am sure they could offer you the same.
Speak soon

Apologies for posting off topic but saw your post above..
I flashed / waved at the weekend while you were jetwashing your "Brutus" at a local garage (I was in the Picasso, sorry).
I went there with my brand new WRX, very very very shiney, Swissol, etc and when I bought the token I was warned that the detergents the company use are pretty caustic and are best suited to the normal Isuzu trooper very muddy brigade and would strip the wax of the car like pirahna !!
Not sure he was telling the truth but now only use it for wheel arhes and crud.
Apologies again for posting off topic

Midlife,
JET WASH !!!!
Sorry mate, never use them. Washing by hand is the only way to go, oh and waxing with your hands as well, as it lets me get closer to Brutus. And I always finish off by polishing his tail pipe

I can confirm that a Mr S Sherwen has purachsed a Skoda Thingy. his scooby is being stripped of all things shiny and noisy and will prob appear in the for sale section soon.
I think were should turn this post into a
'What do Cumbrain scoobs want to do to steve' post
So what should we do to him as a punishment ?

Jabbroni,
I can recommend a trip over to the Sportmans. The food is 'wicked' and the company isn't bad either.
So far only Jonny Gav, STI Paul and myself have braved the journey.
We could convoy over for the next one.
Saying that, it the day after ours so may not get my pass signed.
Cheers
