Car (99 Turbo) is due its 75k service.
I've priced it with the following, but was wondering if I'd missed anyone.
A J White, Jap Innovations,Prosport,Robinson's of Rochdale,TEG & Scooby North.

I will recomend Prosport at Stockport, my car has gone like a dream after they serviced it. Top Garage, infact the only garage I have been to, and felt that I havent been fleeced.

Andy,
Prosport are winning at the moment but I keep getting different messages about what needs doing !
Some companies are quoting oil, oil flter, fuel fiter, new coolant and spark plugs whilst others are not changing the plugs or coolant.
Anyone know if they need changing ?
Chris

At the end of the day it depends on how thorough the place is I suppose.
Some might be offering the cheapest alternative for someone who isn't that bothered about enhancing performance.
e.g. the main dealer might change your airfilter for an OEM item whereas a performance specialist would fit an upgrade filter for example. Probably more expensive, but better for the car's performance.
Also some places would not change the plugs to keep the cost down whereas others would say well, we don't HAVE to but obviously the car would be better if we do.
It comes down to whether you want best or cheapest. Different people want different things.
Running the amount of NF and the boost that I do, my plugs have to be changed about every 3000 miles to keep performance A1, so it's horses for courses I suppose.

I don't know if this will help any but if you have a gander at
Scooby Mania site, check out servicing and there is a full breakdown of what get's done at what interval.....1000miles to 60000 miles.
Hope it helps when making your decision where to go.
I'll be in the same position in 6 weeks time so please let me know who won out. I'm based in Rochdale but hearing very good things about A & J White.

Rich W,
Thanks for the comments.
Jap Sti 3,
Looked at the site and guess what - Its wrong !
It shows the service shedule for the Impreza not the Impreza Turbo.
My service book has both in it (along with the Justy & Forester).
Told you it was confusing !
I've spoken to 2 main dealers now and both have confirmed that the plugs don't need changing, but as Rich has pointed out it may be worth changing them anyway.
Chris
P.s. Prosport are still winning, but TEG have come in very low (to low to believe to be honest )

Chris, when,s it due?
Might have a word with Nick about discounts for the newly formed club, so if you can hold on a week or so, might be able to get you a better deal.
Will see you tomorrow maybe to discuss.
Cheers

Have you tried RB Motorsport in Mawdsley, near chorley. They are primerally a skyline tuner, but they do a lot of scoobies.
Cord there is building a 450bhp impretza, but i'm sure they can cater for any servicing work you require.
I use them for my GTR, and have always been pleased with there work and the bill.

RC Developments in Northwich!
If it's the cheapy one your after then don't try them (like Rich says though, cheap isn't normally the best as corners are cut and at 75K it's best not to cut them as it may bite you in the A$$ later)!

Scooby Towers
I've not had work done at any of those places other than Prosport and one other who i will not mention on here(mail me if you want to know who it is as i've had a bad experience on a particularly simple service)
All i can say is that Prosport give you a superb service and competitive price. I was astounded at the level of care taken when i had work done there. Everything was covered up so as not to get scratched or damaged, you are encouraged to look at your car and inspect all the work done and Pete the owner is a top bloke who isnt out to fleece you, he only wants repeat custom. There are a few rally scoobs that Pete keeps there and he is a genuine enthusiast. The rates are good and you know what you will be paying for a service and any additional items that may need replacing, coz they are on a board in the reception.
My recommendation is to let Prosport do the job and i assure you, you will be impressed by the level of of service and genuine care that this place has for you and your scoob

Scooby towers, TEG Sport or town end garage now only specialise on subaru. As they are mainly rally prep/repairs teg can give you very good deals. Never had a problem and at the end of the day, they work on some of the best of all group rally imprezas in the world, and own two group wrc imprezas!!!!
They know the score!

ProSport for me
If its looking after scoobs then ProSport is your place they have 3 WRC cars (this includes the Irish champions car) and i cannot fault Pete and co for the work they do on your car.
They have fixed prices on the board for what its going to cost you, if you give him a call on 0161 432 9999, and as long as there are no problems with your car, he will be able to tell you the cost there and then
Tony (a Very happy ProSport customer )
