been told to post here as well as Non-Scoob Rel for suggested routes...
Parents have just moved from Bristol to Kendal and I'm going for a visit soon. Chance to try out the 'new' Pug 1.9 Gti on something other than London roads.
Any suggestions from you Northern lot for some good routes in that area? Chance to show a southern softie what he's been missing out on![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
big thanks
Ian

How about.. out of Kendal on A59...1? heading for Windermere, past the Stavely junctions theres a garage & little chef on your left, turn right (just before the road narrows again), its a nice twisty road but decent width and surface, follow this up and then down onto the kirkstone pass road. Turn right, follow up to Kirkstone, down along side of Ullswater, then left for Dalemain and A66 (just b4 Pooley bridge). Right on A66 back towards Penrith/M6. Over M6 heading along A66 dual, at the next roudabout take second left for Alston. Follow that all the way up to Hartside cafe. Enjoy the view!!
After that you can either head down into Alston and then onto Hexham A69 (nice hairpins
) From A69, I dunno? back towards Carlisle? M6 then A6 from junction 42 back via Penrith and over Shap to Kendal.Have a look at a map, it'll make sense, honest!!
Your spoiled for choice ! There's also a website with details of mobile cam positions for each week, no fixed cams up here

a brilliant run is up from kendal to ambleside then follow signs to coniston allways very fast in my citroen zx (had my brother screaming to be let out of thecar once)once in coniston keep driving through and follw the road to broughton in furness (good for a meal is the black **** pub in broughton.....no lm not joking).then turn around and do it all again backwards a couple of big jumps lots of nice twisty roads with a couple of long straights.there and back could be done in a little over an hour but be careful there are a few cars about better either early morning or late evening...........and if your up on the 6/12 there is a good rally on based in coniston.....plenty of decent cars
hope this helps steve
