First meet last night at TTS, and now the IOM Organiser! Makes sense as I do come from the Isle of Man orignally.
Plan is to do a long weekend maybe from Fri until Mon night travelling on the Thursday evening ferry and returning on the Monday evening ferry.
I can organise anything on the island as well as meeting with the MANX Sidc group, laps of the TT course, karting, accomodation, ferries, paintball... etc Just a few ideas to see what you people wish to do really?
Anyone is welcome to come along. I can organise everything together into a package and the more people that come, the bigger discount I can do for you all.
Ideas welcome please And people interested.
Cheers
Jon

I've been over to IOM doing some work recently and got the full guided tour of the island and TT Course (in an Astra estate unfortuntely) but what a great set of roads.
I think we are looking at going over this year so could tie up maybe. I'll talk to the guys tonight.

Excellent!!! Thanks John, ill organise something good I hope!
It will be a sight all those Scoobys coming around the ferry!
Any idea of numbers will be fantastic as this will push the price down hugely. Especially if we book in advance.
Just a guestimate will do. To work on.

Cool getting some interest!
Give everyone some background info to this lovely island.
It has no speed limits..... Nuff said
Seriously the island DOES have no speed limits with a mountain course with long straights, hairpin bends, differnet surfaces etc. as well as going up a mountain and down one
Any vids of the course I can post on here if you want? Courtesy of Mean&Green.
Island is quiet but if you go at the weekends we know the places to go for a good ol' drink and stuff and in numbers we can book the whole place out!
Webpages to visit you can try www.isle-of-man.com for starters as well as the www.iomtt.com.

I.O.M. is definately recommended...if you havent been in a scoob before...then it must go to the top of your "to do" list.
Im goin back this summer with the SIDC for the Manx rally and more.
probably cant make this trip...cause im skint right now.
And im sure Jon will look after all of ya who go's.

Count me in, (as long as it dosn't clash with any hols booked).
Will know for sure when a date is set.
Sounds great so far, Travel, Kip, Drive, Drive some more, Drink, Kip, Kart, Drive, etc, etc, I can see it all unfolding.
Welcome in at the deep end.

Hey mate count me in aswell. looking forwared to a long weekend.
will have to make sure that work is squared away. So a date as soon as possible will be nice cant wait for the Karting and what about a big meet in the town center on the Sunday. We could be all special guests of the town.

Hi jon/rest
dont know if you are interested in this date, but Trev from Straightliners has already agreed a package with the IOM tourist board for 2004 for cars, for the 19th/20th 21st June.
The IOM tourist board are helping promote/subsidise the package thro the regular IOM travel agents, and are doing an all in price for ferry , b+b etc, that works out quite cheap (under £200 for 4 days for ferry and accom i understand).
They have also booked Jurby airfield for the sunday for a rwyb 1/4m day with timing gear, with saturday a free for all driving day on the tt course etc. trophy presentation on the sunday night, returning home on monday.
It was only launched/announced yesterday at the NEC Autosports on the IOM tourist board stand, and i have a few flyers with the contact numbers etc, which will be going out to clubs etc this next week. (i'm not involved in organising this one at all, just passing info onto fellow clubs/groups, as 200+ club members are going).
no probs if people are doing their own thing, but the june one is open to all clubs/groups or individuals, with the cars all going across on the same sailings etc. might save a bit of work for people? i have already spoken to most of the clubs who take part in TOTB events and they are all up for this trip, and will be getting the bookings details next week to them
as i say, no probs if you are doing your own thing, just thought this may be of interest as its already set up for June. the IOM tourist board are making a push for more car related events to follow on from the TT, and Trev @ straightliners already runs the Ramsey sprint for them during TT week, so a long weekend trip with a drag meeting was agreed with them a few months ago.

Finally got the details for the June event, package is via Magic Holidays (IOM steam packet company) and it should be listed with them as 19th/20th June Drag Car weekend. Magic Holidays are 01624 645777. no one has booked as yet as details are out today, its upto individuals/clubs to sort their own bookings direct now.
I'm ringing tomorrow morning to sort details on hotel for 200+ club members then will send out to our lot on email. packages are around £160 for 4 days incl ferry and hotel(b+b) i am told.
we will be going on basis of set off friday 18th june, sat /sun and monday in IOM, return monday evning or tues.
theres an offical drag meeting for the cars on sunday 20th at Jurby with an evening/trophy presentation that night.
timing gear is being run by straightliners, same set up as at elvington.

yes thats the idea, its open to anyone, club reps could book for a few/lot of people, or let them sort it themselves via Magic on the phone number as above. Tourist board have done a deal thro them for a cheap package incl ferry.
i'm ringing tomorrow to check what the hotels are /location etc and the package prices. obviously if people wish to extend the stay or shorten it etc , thats upto them, the basic dates i'd expect everyone there would be sat and sunday 19th and 20th, but we are making a long weekend of it to incl fri and monday! was told 4 nights at @ £160 p person all in incl ferry.
if theres anything to add or people should know i'll post it on here etc.
cheers

NW I think the 200 plus club is opening there offer to non scooby owners but why not go out and buy a Subaru you can get them fairly cheaply and then the only expense is running them. lol
