Seems to be a lack of enthusiam this year for arranging/participating in convoys upto the NBO - don't know why.

For those of you who are going for the first time this year, going up in convoy is a rite of passage for subaru ownership. Its just got to be done!

If you're going cross country, be wary on the A59

If you want to meet up with WYIOC, Hull, S. Yorks & Midlands then come along the M62 and catch up with us at the Trading Post, just off J31. CLICKY Note :- We seem to have a couple of threads running so I'll converge all the info over the weekend into this one thread.

I do have some very valid reasons for not being as enthusiastic about the NBO this year, If I can go I will, if I can I wont, its sort of reasons beyond my control, and I would much rather be going to the NBO, as its something ive been looking foward to since last year

A59 is well patrolled, especially on weekends by amongst others, an unmarked WR Blue STI8 PPP, a green classic, 2 white marked classics, several marked and unmarked bikes (inc an unmarked 'Busa ). There are frequent speed traps, often at the top of the hill after rising up from Bolton Abbey. Great road, ruined by interferance

John, was this the route you were planning???? Doesnt sound great for a blast Maybe the M62/A1 may be better! Just a suggestion. Meet up with the WYIOC and block the A1

 

Don't get me wrong, you may well blast through and not see any of them. But I always stick to 60-ish on there and save the more entertaining speeds for minor, less populated stretches

 

The convoy can be great but can also be a license risker depending on the intelligence of those around you... A hord of burbling Imprezas' all bound for Ripon is bound to attract attention from bacon... Not that this is putting me off going... Oooo noooooo
I just need to talk some people into coming who by enlarge couldnt care less about scoobies but are great company and I must sell it to them on a "Theme Park" principle...

Im sure we'll be booting it only now and then, and that the "Leader" has done this before. If there's a lot of us, we may even get split up, but hopefully not. We dont even know the route yet, I was only guessing (hope I was right though after all these posts Anyway Abdabz, you were spotted this morning near Prescot, so dont give me that "Albania" crap
