Just in case anyone fancies it I intend to go up to the Lakes next weekend 29th and do the second day on the Sunday, just for a blast really. I'm starting from the centre of Windermere at approx 10.30am (ish), so if you've nothing better on give me a shout.

Very tempting!
But I fear I must decline this excellent invitation as I must go forth and reconoiter some perambulances along the queens highway of a more westerly persuasion vis-a-vis Wales Camping Trip III (This time with sheep?)
Seriously, anyone who was not on LCT1 I urge you to do this route, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!
If you were on LCT1 then why not do it again, you know you want to!
Chris
On the other hand, I may just be persuaded...

Would love to do it again but I'm at the Jap performance car show that weekend. Did someone say that there was a re-run near the end of August in a different thread? I may be up for that, then again the first week of September is Trax then WCT3 the week after, then did someone mention Scotland the week after.

No, still not convinced, I think you're up there on Saturday seeing a certain blonde
I would start from Brough anyway, too many caravans on the other bit

Very true - the run next to Ullswater is nice but becomes a 3rd gear crawl with the old 2nd gear blast to pick off one or two slow cars.
If I get stuck behind another coach going up the Kirkstone pass, I might explode.
I'd suggest starting from Pooley Bridge - I loved the back roads to Cliburn and Bolton.

I think there was a bit of bad luck getting stuck behind vehicles, when slider and I went up the 3 times previous we had no probs, just luck I s'pose, anyway, this time I fancy making a few stops to admire the scenery, coffee, cakes, blah....blah.....blah....I'm defo going up so thought I'd better mention it for fear of reprisalls had I not
The long range weather forecast gives great weather next weekend, unless there's anything else going off ?

Chris(t),
After all the work I put in persuading the misses to buy a tent. Now you want to do it in one day!!
Might be better a little later, my flexible friend is fast becoming my elastic friend
However if you insist....

Hi Chris.
I can put you in touch with Jon Reeves. He will sort out all the ferries, euro breakdown cover if you dont have that and accomodation for you.
It really will blow you away if you go, the place is very diferent to anywhere else in the world.
What you need is to take your insurance docs with you. Most policies are euro cover automatically but check that, if you need it get a green card sent to you, should take 2 days tops to arrive. I dont need that as my policy takes euro into account already. You also need to take your V5 document and your driving license.
You need to carry a warning triangle in the car and have a GB badge atached to the nearside rear of the car.
As to taking the car on track. Thats the whole point of the trip. Unlike anywhere else in the world, the Nurburgring is not classed as a race track. It is actually a one way public toll road with no speed limit. You buy a ticket from a machine and put that into the toll booth barier and thats it, drive a lap of the most daunting track on earth. Because its a public road your normal car insurance covers you, you are just driving through germany m8.
I'll give you a call later. It's well worth the effort. I am going over with Jon, he is the guy with the Atom i drove last trip. I guarantee you'll have a good time. (not in that way , well, with me anyway. LOL )

Fiends, Romans and Scoobymen
As another paid up member of the Hokey Cokey Club can someone advise if we are IN or OUT.
Don't want to be out amongst those sheep without a chaperone.
