York area - Christmas holiday run out ?
Anyone from the York area fancy a bit of a run out to either the coast or across the moors (or both) sometime during the Xmas break ? If so, add your name/car to the list and we can get something sorted. I've not had my Impreza long and miss the drives with my mates in our Mk2 Escorts...

Could do with a few more people, but had wondered about meeting up somewhere around the Grimston Bar area, then taking either the A1079 or A166 towards the coast, a run along the coast towards Whitby, then back down through the moors down to York via Pickering.
Unless anyone has any better ideas ?!
Anyone else interested?

The WYIOC boys are proposing a run out on thursday 29th if you'd be interested in merging the two
We were thinking of a 10.30am meet up local to us, so we could be in/around York by 11-11.30 ready for a blast out to the east coast.

Well at the moment, it looks like I might not be able to make it... the local Shell has no Optimax, there isn't a BP for miles for Ultimate, and the Esso doesn't sell SuperUL. Given that my car needs Optimax+booster to stop it pinking and the tank is empty, no fuel=no run. Gutted. Good job its a second (third, in fact) car.
If the situation changes and I can get some petrol I will let you know.
But the WYIOC idea sounds great - would definitely be up for that if I can get the car moving.

LOL, thanks for that, it's just unfortunate that I live in Northallerton, about 35 miles away but don't have 35 miles worth of petrol to get there!
I will pop out in the car tomorrow - I've remembered there is a Jet petrol station on the A167 on the way to Darlington that sells SuperUL but last time I used it, it pinked like it was on 95RON. Worth a try though, just have to stick loads of booster in to stop det.
