Number Plates
Well that didn't take long.
The small front No plate I bought at NBO got me pulled over today (been out 5 times in it since). Don't know how he saw it due to was behind me. I had seen two PC's on mountain bikes further back on the road and they gave me a concerned look and then they went on the radio. Must have been them!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pulled me on Ashton by pass, asked me to switch off then walked around the front of car looked at plate. Signals for me to step out and look at front.
Says "you have a very nice looking car but if I get a tape measure out I will find that the lettering on your plate is to small"
Apologised and said been to show over weekend and forgot to replace, legal plate in boot.
Then he tells me that he is "The Boss" of the traffic division and he is instructing his officers to issue fixed penalty £30 fines and if persistent offender, they will in form DVLA to revoke any private plates.
I start to be Mr nice guy with him thinking £30 ticket here we come and ask him does he know such and such a body (traffic cops I know), and he says yes blah blah blah.
So got "The Boss" off topic by now!
Then he just says get the plate sorted, you don't want to lose your plate and bring any unnecessary attention to your car.
So anyway got off with it this time, so went to GT Grafix and ordered a smaller than normal No Plate (shorter length)with legal size digits.
See if this new one gets me pulled.

No grief yet with the new plates, but did get a ticket when I parked outside Macc station earlier in the year with the old ones.
Has anyone heard of the DVLA confiscating a plate? Or is it an empty threat?

Justin, I did have legal in boot and told him so. He said "No good in boot"
I think Idle threat Super, but don't hold me to it if they come knocking.
Pick up otherone tomorrow and see how that goes.
Have read up on plates and the Picture bit and shadowing people have are illegal along with pictures at the end in place of GB?Euro stars flag etc.
