when you say its Chipped you dont mean a Superchip do you ?(please dont say yes).
If so for £1k get a decent set of headers Gt spec and fuel pump and re map and you ll be far better off .Dont bother with a front mount if your not looking at pushing 350 plus .You will need new turbo etc etc before you will feel any benefits of a front mount.
A good top mount is good for big power a friend of mine is still running a top mount (APS ) AND PULLED 442 BHP at Lads rr day.

if you want your car to be reliable as i have found out to my misfortune last year especially with the import models if they are not mapped correctly for uk pump **** you will find they run very hot when you are pushing car in fifth well into the treble figures there is a lot of heat generated coupled with the ineffiencey of a top mount i/c and this is a start to a disaster looming,

and all the crap about them bein more laggier is BS! as a good mapper can map most of the lag out of the system!
so i would say go for it especially if you decide to go for more mods in future and you want piece of mind that your car is running cooler intake temps!

hi m8 sorry i could`nt chat to you last night as was workin
, but here is this age old debate of to fit a fmic or not!.
tbh mate alot of crap is spouted about wether this is a viable option and in my opinion as with a lot of the top tuners in the country will agree that a fmic is the way to go!,

you could fit a later model top mount from an sti8 model which is a lot more efficient than the std one but these tend not to be cheap even second hand ones fetch silly money, however there are some good aftermarket kits out there that can be fitted with a few modifications to your car and it`s not as hard as some make out!
