Engine knock (sounds like the big end to me)
Looks like i'm gonna be looking for a new engine or parts for a bottom end rebuild. Anyone out there know where is good for parts or has anyone had similar issues with theres willing to give some advice? i have a 54 plate wrx turbo I LOVE IT TO PIECES AND REALLY DONT WANT TO GET RID!

you would probably be better off putting a stronger bottom end in. too common with the newage wrx model.
couple of sti blocks in the for sale section (they usually have forged pistons and a semi closed block unlike your weak open deck block you currently have. if you ever want to go for more power then at least you know the bottom end will hold up.
you really only need the block because the heads from a sti for instance are different so you would use your current non vvt heads bolted to the new block and your back on the road.
at the end of the day it all comes down to how much money you are looking at spending (or at this time of year getting away without spending).
depending where you are based i can recommend you a very good garage to re-build or fit a new block for you at very good prices. if you want to know what the garage i use is like then have a look at my garage on here, rob built my car.
