NBO9 Charity Update
Just a quick update about this years NBO Charity.
This years chosen Charity will remain as per NBO8 - the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) - The Soldiers Charity.
http://www.soldierscharity.org/
As with previous years, I've registered this years NBO event with work (BAE Systems) and they will once again match (pound for pound) the amount we manage to raise on the day.
Last year we managed to raise £3,215.36 which once doubled gave us a NBO8 Grand Total of £ 6,430.72, so here's hoping that NBO9 is even more successful.
To date the NBO concept has raised over £50,000 for various Charities.
As with previous years I'll be trying to offer a money can't buy raffle prize for the winning ticket holder, and further detail will be posted once the prize is secured.
There will of course be other prizes for the raffle, and if anyone would like to donate any suitable prizes please bring them along on the day, or get in touch via PM before the event, as they will all be gratefully received .
Hope to see you there.
Chris

That's fantastic Chris
Im sure everyone will all dig deep for this great cause
There is so many great charities out there so the NBO committee has worked with Chris towers from the LADS for the last nine years and his employee BAE and once again they will DOUBLE all the money we raise at the NBO
That's a great charity this year
Main fundraising comes from
The gate entrances which is £7 per car but as the Captain decided a few years ago NO CHANGE would be given to help speed up 300 cars in less then 1 hour coming through the gates
The buckets are sealed so many tenners and even twenty pound notes were handed straight into the bucket ,this has fetched in many extra pounds into the kitty
Entry into the show arena for the car competitions
We decided on this one 3 years ago and decided that if people stick a quid yes a QUID in the bucket as they enter the show arena it would be another great way of getting money in
As yet no one has objected to the idea of a quid any body that didn't like the idea of a quid would be welcome to discuss it with Martin. The NBO DJ who would talk about it with his mike left on
The raffle prizes is always popular with all suppliers donating raffle prizes as terms of their entry to trade ,some fantastic prices worth a lot of money but , as Chris says we could always do with more
If even 3% of people attending the NBO could ask and get something from their employees it would make a difference to the raffle list
Private donations
This is catching on well
Some of the clubs had in club competitions and they handed the money in with Martin announcing it to the crowds
We have had a couple of anonymous donations which were nice including the very special one last year ,as Chris and me were packing up a lad came up to us and said he had a whip round at work before the event and gave us £180 Chris and me was shocked at the Hugh amount after the event and we respected his reasons for no publicity but a BIG thanks for that one .."
If anyone wants a letter to their employers for this purpose please contact Chris towers and he will sort this one out for you

Another year has been and gone, and yet again the Subaru Community has dug deep and come up with a great amount for charity even faced with rising transport costs across the board (Fuel, insurance etc etc etc)
Firstly I’d like to thank all the helpers on the gate collecting the entrance money as well as all the traders who not only pay to be at the NBO but also donate the majority of the raffle prizes.
I’d also like to give a special mention to the two apprentices from work (Joe & Duncan) who gave up their free time to work all day even though they have no connection to the Subaru brand.
Anyway onto the important bit - This years total is £3297.31 which BAE Systems will fund match to leave a very impressive total of £6594.62
On behalf of the ABF - Thank You One & All
