Default Help needed with new car ideas!!

Hi all

I've currently got a BMW E46 M3 coupe. I'm looking for a replacement for this that is dog friendly but still fun to drive.

My short list so far.
Mk1 mazda 3 mps.
Mk5 golf gti 3 door
Bmw 330d touring
Bmw 530d touring.
Audi a4 3.0tdi avant

Looking for other ideas please.
Budget around £7000-£8000.

The only I'd like is something fun to drive semi quick and be able to fit a medium sized dog in the boot.
Open to any engine size. Would like something newer than 2004

Thanks everyone

I'd say the e46 Touring, they're so cheap, you'd get a mint one for £4500 ish then spend the rest of your budget on your Scooby. Bought myself an e46 318i SE touring last week for £2500, 2 owners and FSH, loving it, but I wouldn't say it's fun to drive - but an M Sport 330i would be.

Saying that though, if I had £8,500 spare on a fun estate, then this is the car I'd buy...

Does the dog not fit on the back seats?

I ask, as I am soon to be in the market for a M3 and also have a dog so it would be good to know?

It would go on the back seats but I really don't want to mark the leather. The back seats don't look like they have been sat on, never mind had a dog in the back!

The M3 is a very capable car, that is never wanting for more power or grip in the dry. In the wet it can be a bit of handle full, but then what rwd car isn't a handle full in the wet, it just needs a bit of respect in the wet.

I'd be keeping it if the other half didm;t want a dog so much, its had so much money spent on it over the last year.
