Default Switched to a Fwd RS

Just thought I would share new member of the family...

RS Focus
09'
Lux pack 2
FSH Ford/Pumabuild
28k
Stage 3 pumabuild conversion

So far so good, after all 4 wheel drive cars had over last few years.
Anyone else any experience of these?

Yep, driven one a few times. Was impressed apart from the time my mate was driving back from London in the wet lol (someone had to start)

A few things annoy me about them, but just little bits that could have been done better. Things like the crap looking brakes, the 'venting' under the headlights and the 'carbon' look.

They will always just be a modern day RS turbo for me, pretty much the ultimate lads car.

I just hope Nissan make the new Pulsar!

24k for a tacky plastic focus with extra bits stuck on? Hey, at least it's not lime green

Lol
Thought would get a mixed response!
Tbf it's not a patch on S4 just sold with 500/700 but I never for one minute thought it would be...
Stage 3 PB gives 390/390 and is a real hoot once out of 2nd pmsl!
I just had that itch at 42 to revert back to old school fwd for a while.
I totally agree the brakes lack sparkle but do the job with Pagid pads ok.
If I decide to keep for a wee while some Alcons 365mm will be going on. Tbf though after all the big powered scoobs/Evos/gtir I have had this seriously will give most a run for money
Viewed couple of green ones, yes very nice but to most they are marmite colour!
This ticked all boxes, lowish miles, lux pack 2, FSH and mods to save me!
Also agree it's a pretty safe bet not loosing money on them as they seem to have levelled out!

Cheers guys

Been driving a 60 plate FW for the last 20 months. Not so much fun when wet or damp especially from stationary. Mpg has been identical to the FN2 CTR I came from. Anyone who says they don't torque steer is talking out of their a** IMHO. My front wheels love to hunt cat eyes and bumps.

Interior is better than STi of the same year. The optional half leather recaro's make it look a lot better inside and are very comfy and supportive.

Pops and bangs are fun especially if you go for a proper exhaust. I stuck with mildly subtle via a mongoose cat back.

Mine rides a little low on eibachs which is not great on some of the roads and dirt tracks I frequent so will probably change it for something a little more practical.

Ownership is similar to scoobies many years ago. Other owners waving / flashing, random people coming up to talk about it and a forum RSOC that's extremely busy, friendly and informative.

Just to add the chocolate Subaru engines put me off an STi hatch. Low tax and depreciation clinched the RS. The prices are insane. Same spec as mine is still low £20k's which is what I paid almost 2yrs ago!

Well seems the jury are more for than against...
I thought so

Yes torque steer with heavy right foot will always be an issue especially on uneven roads in 1st and 2nd but just under 400/400 once in 3rd is a nice place to be!

Am just gonna tweak this and that and hope I fall head over heels, but right now I love the newness, freshness and the fact it needs a half decent driver to ride the fine line of steering/right foot control!!

Happy days to all you crazy mother f....RS petrol heads

Ps. Ford badge: not closed properly

Went in a 420bhp mk2 Focus RS last year and was very very impressed, sound awesome, got loads of attention and felt fast as fu6k. plus cheaper road tax compared to the newer shape subaru's. If I was in the market for another car, I would really consider one of these!!

Nice...
My full Milltek decat de res sounds like a baby spaceship on full chat and is the nicest piece of kit I've seen, agree get some proper nice comments also, from youngsters to owd folk
Lux pack 2 is a must.
Recaros are fab with black half leather!
If this was a 4 wheel drive then it would be a serious tool in every sense.

Cheers for nice feedback guys.

Also RS Focus OC is proper helpful

Only 11500 ever built and can get plaque if desired unique to vin

Can the rear spoiler be removed? I think it would look fantastic if it wasnt for that scaffolding sticking off the roof.
