Default Run around

So the misses is now interested in a run around. She is looking at a 2008/2009 1.25L Ford Fiesta titanium. What alternatives are just as good - same level of car.....so stupid comments like sh1tty old legacy are not needed.

Cheers

Corsa D 1.3 cdti

Seriously. Vauxhalls are ****, but if its a cheap, very economic run about your looking for then sorted.

cheers man. She is looking for a petrol. Does not need to be frugal or super economical. Hence the Fiesta, mini etc....

Well its only the early newage Minis you need to stay away from. But thats all I know about Mini's really!

A Fiesta is a very good car. The best balance between price and quality in my personal opinion. We have an 07 car in the family, and its been faultless really.

Have you considered leasing? she could be running around in a brand new car for less than £100 a month.

No capital outlay or a very small one in some cases.
No tax or mot.
No tyres to buy or repairs to pay for.
One service a year @ circa £150 unless she does more than 20k miles.
Rac/AA breakdown cover thrown in.

Fixed cost motoring and the peace of mind that no matter what happens it's under warranty.

These modern small cars also tend to do around 50mpg too, so savings to be had there too.

My Mrs has a little vauxhall Viva and the way it works out is that she's motoring for free for the first 18months when compared to what we were paying for her to run about in a 600 quid banger.

Mazda 2 sport, wife has got a mini and it's been wonderful, the chasis is awesome on them.
Needs a 5 door next so it's a toss up to go away from mini although didn't want to tbh, or even thinking of an aygo purely for cheapness to run, want something for her in the £30 tax band.
But moving from a mini to an aygo scares her how small it maybe.
