Am I the only person who finds it pretty ugly?
The bonnet is too fussy, the front too bulky the rear wheelarch too weak the back too messy and the roofline too arched?

Too me it's just another gawky looking coupe which will age far too quickly like the Celica.

That said. I'm not that interested in a car for it's looks. If it drives well I'd still be interested.

Mark

I think it looks superb and all of the reviews I've read so far (Autocar, EVO, Autoexpress) say that it drives very well with a strong engine and a fun rear wheel drive chassis.

Read about it in Autocar yesterday and spent most of today drooling over the web sites

Stunning looking car, absolutely stunning.

Britain is the biggest growing performance car maket in the world, with sales up by 340% in the past 5 years, so why the hell aren't companies like Nissan with the 350Z clambering to get it released in the UK? IT MAKES NO SENSE DAMMIT!!!!!!
Its the same as with the new Integra Type-R, why is not on sale here?
Oooh, rant mode well and truly engaged.....

That's what it says on Autoexpress and 23k for the track model.

This is soon gonna be 350znet not scoobynet.

Great spec 280bhp 260lbs torque, 6 speed box, lsd, all independant suspension.
No word on a release date though.
This is what we want, a modern day 2.8i capri

See nissan yankee site here

You have forgotten that £1.00 = $1.00 when comparing car prices so expect the Track version to be £35k in Blighty!

It's an interesting looking machine though although, inevitably, not quite as nice as the prototype that they showed 18 months ago which had more of a 'Zagato' look to it.

A pound does normally equal a dollar, except the autoexpress web site quotes £17,392 .. so it must be true.......

Have a look here for scans of the Autocar Test http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/ubbfor...ML/008151.html

Its $26,269(basic 287Bhp model) in the US - about £17,500. Around 10k less than the Howdy TT according to Autocar

The best guess is Nissan UK will sell the base model for approx £24,000, hopefully Nissan will be smart and price this below the Audi TT and the BMW Z3 in the UK as they have done in the US.

Nissan has already confirmed they will be releasing a convertible model of the 350Z.
This will add to the current range:

BASE MODEL
6-Speed MT Only - $26,269

ENTHUSIAST
6-Speed MT - $28,249
5-Speed AT - $29,219

PERFORMANCE
6-Speed MT Only - $30,429

TOURING
6-Speed MT - $33,179
5-Speed AT - $31,589

TRACK MODEL
6-Speed MT Only - $34,079

For more detailed specs check the FAQ on http://www.350zforum.com/

Someone should shoot the marketing guys at Nissan GB.

They spend £5 million advertising the Almera - it was a flop.

When they could've got the Skylines and new 200sx's over - what would do better for marketing cred?

Now they don't bring over the 350z.

So Nissan "should" have an image of pretty cool sportscars/coupes -instead when you say Nissan, everyone thinks Micra.

Good job Nissan

Saw this in Autocar too.

I think it looks great - really, REALLY like it. Much nicer than a T(i)T IMHO!! Although suprised that with 280 standard it still only does the 60 run in over 6 secs, no faster than the lesser bhp'd Audi.........

B@stards - I suppose its not coming out here cos the 200sx and the silvia and every other sporty Nissan has bombed here.
They were good cars, but a bit plasticy up against the competition, which doesn't cut it in the coupe market.
But now they've finally got it right, they're not going to release it?! Fools.
The US market will be massive, but they're a Jap manufacturer so it's not like they won't be making a RHD model for the home market, Aus etc.
Grrrr. I've also asked Autoexpress to explain themselves as to why they quoted two sterling prices for the car in their (alleged) roadtest and various people have had emails saying its not even getting released here. Looks like very poor journalism to me. Please add fuel to my thread on the AE website.

As you can tell, I really want one of these

Think I read on a web site review of the car that they timed it at 5.4 for 0-60.

Notice that in UK we only had the 200SX up to the S13 generation, we never had the S14 Silvia, & never will cos it's going to be discontinued in Japan this August. I think Nissan did make a EU conforming S14 200SX, cos the Aussies have the S14, & it's badged as the 200SX with the same engine found in the Euro S13 (not the 250ps Jap version) as well as rear foglamps.
I think the grey importers will do a lot of business with the new Fairlady (as the 350Z is called in Japan).

Father_Jack......... you must be Psychic........

They don't have any info on it, let alone know what I was on about.

Perhaps Middlehurst might know as they are offical suppliers of the Skyline..

Sorry, I mean the S15. I miscalculated the S13 as S12.
The S13 was available in Japan up until 1999 alongside the S14, and since the early 90's it gained the SR20DET engine in it's home mkt.

Does anyone know if the 350z is being sold in Japan as early as it is in America ? (i.e. next month).

I can see the prices and spec on the American Nissan web site but there doesn't appear to be any mention of the 350z (or fairlady) on the Japanese Nissan site ?

Oooh i dunno, i reckon the new TT (or Auto Express's version of it) looks fantastic. Keeps the looks of the original, yet makes it more modern, more aggressiev etc. And i'm a car designer, so ner ner ner...

Cool

Since giving up Scoob ownership to buy a fecking large house I have been looking round for a suitable replacement for my beloved RB5WR. The only thing that has hit me between the eyes in the last 4 months is the lovely 350Z (where is the dribble icon ???).

Nissan claim not to be considering selling the car in the UK but it is all over their web site, and likely to be all over their stand at the Motor Show in October Is there a case for trade description here...we see it as part of their advertising but they won't sell it to us.

Yex....still dribbling and waiting for the 'R' Spec version

The engine should be strong, as Nissan is using it as the base for its JGTC Skyline racer.
It seems that the forthcoming Skyline GT-R (V35??) will also have this VQ series engine.
BTW, the Renault Vel Satis uses the same engine as the 350Z, but in a detuned form.

Quick Reply: 350Z for £17,392?
