I know this should possibly go in the for sale section but it isn't actually for sale yet and i just wanted to get an idea of what people would give me for it....
1997 R Reg Golf VR6 Highline
54,000 miles
Full VW service history
(and for those who don't know what a highline is...)
New front tires (i.e about a month ago)
Recently serviced (50k)
MOT september.
Purple metallic paintwork
Full leather interior
Heated seats
Heated wing mirrors
Electric Windows and Sunroof
Cat1 Alarm and Immobiliser with total closure
Tinted windows
ABS
Traction Control
Smoked rear light clusters and indicators
erm...
2.8 litre VR6 engine..... just in case you're not a VW Golf person
Any ideas ?
I know what I would like for it.... and I have been made offers below this so I would like some more opinions please

This was done a few months ago - the guy selling it thought it would be worth about £9k, i said he'd probably get about £7k.
Similar spec to yours too, slightly higher miles. I don't remember seeing what he did end up selling it for.
The problem with the purple ones is the lary "mulberry" interior - you either like it or you don't.
In fact i've seen one this morning, a 96 with 52k miles, FVWSH, for £7.5k. Seems to be about the going rate.
