OK....if you were buying a runabout, what would you go for, bearing in mind that you lot would be looking at the bhp/ton figure even when looking at superminis?
The best one as far as I can tell from stats in this respect is a 1.3 Daihatsu Sirion. Something like 120bhp per litre and £9,000 new.
Any opinions on this car? Anybody driven one?
Cheers,
Rich

From 4car:
Daihatsu Sirion (98- )
Supermini Hatchback
The Sirion five-door hatchback is one of the rarest small hatchbacks, but deserves to be better known. It offers superb all-round value for money, and completely blows the old Charade away in every aspect. The styling is modern and there's a huge amount of equipment, even on the basic car.
8 versions costing from £7,995 to £10,995.
SUMMARY:
For: Economy, cute styling, high safety standard, warranty.
Against: Underpowered, noisy 1.0 engine.
Sum-up: The Sirion has its shortfalls, but isn't short on charm. Cheaper to run than a Fiesta, it's an interesting and worthy alternative to the mainstream.
