Wow,the new Audi TT sounds very nice.
Thinking why bother with the PPP for my STI7 with this coming out @350BHP, four wheel drive.
Will leave me standing.

It always seems to go this way. After all - the Scoob is the ultimate car, and to challenge that 'fact' or like another car is seen as heresy by many on here!
Sad really.

The coupe goes on sale early 2005
(Not sure about availability of PPP that early though )
With a V6 lump and Audi's current levels of driver interest, I wouldn't see it as a direct competitor. Also price - RS4/6 will also shred your STI, but at 2 times the price, so they should.

We're missing the point somewhere.
TTs are posers cars
Scoobys are rally-derived B-Road munchers and I invite any TT to blow a Scooby down a wet B road!! Or will the TT get too dirty?
Not slating the TT as one of the Directors at my work has one! But you don't see many TTs in the WRC!!!!!

Yup definately missing a point!
If you purchased a standard STi type UK for 26k, then add the performance pack making it 28k your still going to be 7k less and only a few bhp down on a very (no doubt) heavy audi!
If they have to turbocharge a big 3.2ltr engine to get a little more than most get out of a 2ltr turbo then we think there is something wrong here!

So what? It's not as if the Scoob you can buy is anything like the one in the WRC.
You could quite easily say "But you don't see many Imprezas in the DTM!!!!!"....

"and I invite any TT to blow a Scooby down a wet B road!! "
i would quite happily have a go
some of you guys are incredible, to find it so imconprehensible that another car is as quick as a scoob!
it's cos there is so much fecking turbo lag that they seem like the fastest cars on the road- especially when compared to the ****e you have traded up from
i have a friend who has a PPP'd scoob and to so he was a bit surprised when i wasn't disapearing backwards was quite funny to say the least, and across the backroads he got well and truly shafted!
standard scoob brakes, well n his case anyway are a bag of shyte
come on then

Apart from enthusiasts and people who are in the know I don't think most people in the general public would say that the Impreza is a pretty car. I have done a quick ask around to friends in the past and some people even consider them to be ugly. I myself like the purposeful looks of it but I didn't buy my Type R for looks alone unlike most people who buy TT's who probably don't even bother taking it for a test drive first.
Let's look at the on paper facts then
Type R = 4.5 seconds to 60
Audi TT = 6.7 seconds......erm not exactly what I would call scintillating acceleration in fact within reach of some of the newer hot hatches
I also had the opportunity to borrow a friends TT. I dorve it for half an hour and took it back coz A) you wouldn't know it even had a turbo on there from all the difference it makes to the performance and B) It sounds like a Ford Fiesta

Invaded by hairdressers on here all of a sudden
If you like your TT then good luck, I like my Scoob.
I won't be posting on the Audi forums about how great I think my STi is, or how crap I think the TT is, why not do the same ?

the audi tt's a great looking car,the interior is fantastic and has got to be the best i have ever sat in.
loved the car until i drove it!!!
it was the 225hp version covertable,it reminded me of the xr3i convertable(scuttle shake city!) i had for 2 summer months all them years ago
as for power i put my foot down and waited for the push in the back from the turbo, and waited, and waited but i was at 6000revs by then!!!
"well it must handle then" i thought, give it some around a roundabout and slide,oh ****!!!
definatly the best posers car but not the hottest performer, each to their own i supose.

No one said the Scoob is the ultimate car... far from it!
Just chill n go party fa **** sakes!!
TT - very innovative, fantastic interior. Never driven one so can't comment.
Scoob - got one, was my dream car, now Evo6 or Skyline please!
Happy everyone?

I don't really see why you are all comparing the two cars. They're pitched at completely different sectors, and different lifestyles. I'm sure not many bug-eye owners bought the car for its looks, whereas the TT has been voted (by Autocar and EVO) as one of the nicest cars to live with for a long time. The TT is a pleasure to sit in, truly a design masterpeice. I don't think you could say the same about the scooby. Lets leave it be and realise that the Scooby isn't better than the TT, and vice-versa. They're just different cars, each with their own strengths.
