are there any owners on here with one of these, what is your general opinion of the car, is manual better that the steptronic auto, is the hard top worth the money, whats the handling like, test drove one was very impressed with it considering the size and auto box etc

Really nice car, I would take the steptronic on a car like that, although the manual box is superb. Hard top is worth the money for the winter and reduces road noise and scuttle - so yes I would say worthwhile, and they look nice with the top on unlike some cars.
Handling is good for a cab, especially as the Sport rides on 18" MVs, nice tyre bills!!!
Very nice car and should be pretty good with residual sale prices.

i was this close to buying teh clubsport but then decided that at teh end of teh day it didn't quite do it for me and didn't have that final infatuation factor to make me pull up 30 grand. Is also quite slow as well.
The EVO VII beckons however !

the clubsport has a few cosmetic mods.. and aroudn 30kg less weight
there's nothing wrong with it as a car.. its basicaly teh 330ci but a special model that will be rarer and perhaps hold its value even better ... nout wrong with that
its just that the name they gave it is somewhat ambigious and prolly not the best name to give it afetr cars like the 968 clubsport which has always signified raw, stripped out, lack of luxury, more focus etc..

Mark - Needs a bigger rear spoiler? - are you having a laugh!!
I think it should loose the spoiler completely and have the lip spoiler like on the M3/M3 CSL. One way to ruin the look of a road going BMW - stick a big nasty spoiler on the back! - uuurrrgghhh!!
They should have stuck some nice wheels on it, like racing wheels, stupped out the interior down to the CS level, substantially lower it and give it some more horses like the M3 GT1&2 (E36), then it would appeal as a Clubsport car, to me its just a bit of a gimick that will sell the car to salesmen who think they are buying an almost racing car, not a true enthusiats BMW I dont think.
Nice car but there isnt enough done to it to justify it having the Clubsport badge!

I think its a personal thing mate to be honest, I hate big spoilers on cars, end of. I like subtle agressive styling.
The spoiler on the Clubsport reminds me of the ones you see glued onto the back of Clio 1.2's and Honda Civic 1.4's
Not keen on the ACS spoiler/kit either, although I think the Hartge stuff for the E46 isnt to bad, some of its a bit gay but most of its nice.
