Anyone got experience with high-mileage Audi A4 TDis? I'm thinking of getting one as a daily runabout/commuting car. There are some on Autotrader with about 15 lightyears on them (well, 150k miles actually). How much are they good for?

[Aside: oddly enough, all the Audi RS2s seem to have >100k miles on them, too ]

I've been in an A6 2.5TDi 6 speed which had 120 or 140k on (can't remember which).

Rode as good as new, pretty rapid - all very solid. Ideal motorway cruiser.

A4 TDis are up for the mileage, but as with anything, the service history counts for much if its the engine you're concerned about.
Otherwise, everything else is wear and tear related.

German and Swedish / Europarts are a good source of pattern / OEM supplier parts though.

Check the front suspension arms and the turbo - I had both replaced at 50k on my 97MY under the Audi warranty. Other than that, well-built and long-lasting.
