As I've got a lowly Type R, there is a limited run of 300 only, a 30th year model, no new colours, or performance package, just a few extra, Red recaro's I think, tinted windows, and aircon as standard, although the price is around the 17K mark, which will account for the aircon etc...

But 300 only, might be worth it, to keep residuals up...

CTR30 is the name of the special edition as it is to represent 30 years of production at Swindon I think.

Roll on Jan 20th, thats when my Black CTR 30 will be arriving. Just in time for the snow when the Scooby would be in its element - bl00dy typical.

I saw a red CTR30 at the NEC, looked very nice with the tinted windows but thought the seats looked a little over the top as they are bright red, praps it was just cos the car was red.

Took an R for test drive before I bought MY02 WRX, thought it was a lovely car and will always have a soft spot!!

have fun

Ross

Nick L - which year ?

Reason I'm saying that is that Honda seem to give dates and fail to deliver, mine was something like 2 weeks late, and I was one of the lucky ones.....

I order a new black ctr on Tuesday, original told me that it would be delivered on 20th Dec, was told yesterday 10th Dec! I will wait and see if it arrives.

The ctr30 is limited to a run of 300. pimp tints and red seats put me off tho'.

Also the Salesman in the reading garage told me delivery for a ctr was 3-8 weeks, because they had to be shipped from Japan!!! I used a different garage.

jonny, the limited edition gets recaro seats and air-con and tints in the rear and costs £1k more than the standard CTR (without air-con). As air-con is around £1200 for the standard CTR that makes it a pretty good buy in my opinion.

Standard CTR - £15995 + £1200 air-con = £17195
Special Edition (incl air-con) = £16995

You do the maths :O)

Jonny, the limited edition CTR is not JDM spec. It does not have LSD, alloys on the Champ White cars are not this colour (they will still be the same silver ones), the BHP is not the same as the Jap spec (UK has 200bhp, Jap has 215bhp.

I test drove one and I am getting one as a shopping trolley. Very stiff bodyshell, nice gear box, sporty feel with hard brake pedal, small steering wheel, firm suspension etc. Even without the front LSD, it sticks to the road pretty well!

I'd like a black one Was offered one for 21700 EUR.

The new CTR does not have the Red seats as per new ITR, they are Red but the side bolsters arent the same, and the seat is a tad smaller.

i rest my case ,tinted rear windows cost a matter of pounds to honda , upgrading seats would be the same , and a lower bhp engine, air con is a joke as well ,over £15.000 for a new car with no air-con as standard.u.k is being ripped off .and there made here as well !!

jonny, considering the original estimate for the CTR before it was released was around the £18k mark, Honda astounded the journos when it was released at £15995 on the road. I mean ok so you don't think the Honda Civic Type-R is value for money, well I disagree, there is some serious engineering behind that technology and considering a 0 - 100 time of 16.2 secs, I can't think of another hatch around that price new which is sub 16.5 secs to 100! Some people might mention the Clio but its a different size of motor and no way near as fast to 100!

It returns 31 mpg combined and has a quoted residual retain of something like 60%. Most reviews have concluded it was performance bargain of the year when it was launched and considering the stats I am inclined to agree!

Couldn't agree more with the post above. Its an absolute bargain for the car. Although the cost for air con on the std CTR is very expensive.

In answer to Ducati - I have ordered as a company car and have been given the date through my Fleet department at work. I guess they have been in touch with Honda, most likely in the post as the days of actually talking to people seems even now to be miles away.

Although in fairness to Honda, they were really helpful when I ordered - which was as soon as the price had been confirmed on the CTR30, and they didn't quote any timescales at that point. In fact it took 3 weeks until they even mentionned 20 jan. Doesn't worry me as I've still got a few more mile sin the Scooby till it has to go and if I'm honest I would rather have a Scooby over any of the motors that I've been looking at - but the tax on it is stupid under the new ' tax all regularly serviced new cars off the road policy' that the government have introduced. I thought about getting a stinkin, dirty, big engined gas gussler just to spite the toffee nosed tw@ts but it wouldn't make the blindest bit of difference. In fact why don't I just bend over so the government can **** me up the bum some more!!!!

Errr - did this post start off about the CTR??? Sorry - its Monday I don't wanna be here. Ahhh thats beter.
