Very,Very few details but from what has been leaked we think:-
Larger Tub than Elise
Toyota V6 2.5 "Camless" Motor (256 bhp)
6 speed box
Very trick Traction/Anti-spin control system, taken from the New Nissan GT-R Lotus are also working on.
Lights that follow the steering (Taken from Vauxhall)
Aig bags+ABS
Sytling an updated version of the M250.

We are told that a greater use of "Jap" parts rather than MGR and a lot for attension to detail and Build Q!

I wonder if it will be at the Geneva Show?

Question

Where did these details come from?

And more importantly are Lotus (and cosworth) definitely working on the new skyline GTR? (I know it was in Autoexpress this week)

Got to be honest here:-

V6 Toyota part from Autoexpress
GTR Part also from Autoexpress
New Tub from the Elise BB, like wise the M260 name. However Lotus have made a ref to that this week(See piston heads)

The rest is cobbed together from snippets from verious BBs and an interveiw from the Guy who ran Lotus called Terry Playe i think.

In his interview he spoke off the Elise and M250 using the same (Larger) tub. He also said that he had asked his engineering team to try to build a tub that could be used for both front engine rear drive and mid engine lay out. Thus maxium flexably design wise for furture models.

He killed the M250 because it was too small for the US maket and Lotus need to build "World cars". Of more interest was the fact that he talked about the sucesser to the M250 to far more complicated with the use of traction and anti-spin systems to keep the driver out of trouble.

He also spoke of an lager tub for a "F40" type car. He spilled the beans and Lotus sacked off like quickley. If you follow his words and think about a time table and than read up on what is happening than you can see things are going to plan.
Cheers
