Audi S2 Avant ???
#1
Looking at an Audi S2 Avant, seems minted enough, but should I be scared off by the 130,000mls on the clock ?
I know German reliability reigns as much as the Japanese, but with part Audi/ part general servicing, just a little bit wary as it's a lot of car to go wrong.
Any advice or experiences ?

Took mine up to 100,000 miles with little serious work.
It was still on its original clutch but your one at 130,000 miles it may need it soon.
Only 4rsey problems were repair of AC (£1000), lights going on buttons and replacing whole headlight (£200) because the plastic adjuster snapped
Servicng costs are OTT at Audi but there are many good specialists and at that mileage it doesn't really matter.
I found that there wasn't really that much space in it despite being an estate and the soggy steering - but its a great motorway/ A road ride.
I would have kept it longer but couldn't get a warranty over 100,000 miles so I quickly ditched it.
Apart from that it was one of the better cars I have owned.

Cheers for the report mate.
Also wondering about the state of the suspension and 4wd at that mileage too.
Wouldn't consider official Audi servicing, in fact, I've completely gone off dealership servicing since having the Scoob.
Waste of space and overpriced.

I overhauled the suspension at about 80,000 miles and it wasn't that expensive (relative to the Scoob). I seem to remember that a strut set was about £600 and was a fairly easy DIY job.
I had no trouble with the transmission although some say the 6 spd box can be weak.
What does go is the oil seals on the drive shafts, but again as they are based on the old Quattro, they are quite cheap (£15) and easy.
I now also remember that the whole exhaust was still original, so the major bits do last for a couple of owners- its the poor bugger who cops it when the bits finally expire who I feel sorry for.
Non OEM spares are cheap and easily sourced from VAG specialists.
