I have bought an EVO 6 so my Focus RS is up for Grabs. Deposit of 1k placed at the beginning of November 02 with provisional delivery date of March the 15th 03. Not looking to make any money just thought someone may like not to have to wait nearly a year now which is the current waiting list if they want one. Have all the relevant paperwork etc etc. If your interested send me a message before saturday as I will probably cancel the order then if nobody's interested.

Well Evo, a mag that originally raved about it, have now done a review that seems to suggest it's a death trap.
If people wish to believe that then fine. It's no point bothering to try and convince anyone that it's not true because all people will say is "the truth hurts" etc.
We know some people on the Focus RS BBS have moaned about things like the seats creasing and the CD player (6 disc in dash changer) giving error messages from time to time, but one thing nobody has yet moaned about is the handling being so dangerous that the car goes in any direction without any warning or control.
I am sure people on this forum (and any other non Ford forum) will get the maximum mileage out of it.. but we all know that tomorrow they'll slag off something else which may then upset another group. That's how publishers sell magazines - by being controversial. I wonder many people have now rushed out to buy a copy.. more than would have done so if it was yet another glowing review for the car (and there are plenty of them, as you can see on my web site).

There have been a few cars up for sale and there are loads of different reasons so far;
1) Change in circumstances or lack of funds when it came to doing the deal.
2) Given up waiting and cancelled before the car was delivered. Hence people aren't selling the car but their place in the queue. (Some dealers have refused to refund deposits. Otherwise you wouldn't be seeing these cars for sale as the dealer would just allocate to the next in line)
3) Wanting to make a profit.
I don't think the people who wanted to buy them purely as a way to make a quick buck are having much joy when advertising them for £23-25k. That's probably because; a) people buying a car in the £20k bracket aren't necessarily rich enough (or mad enough?) to pay well over the odds as someone buying a £50-100k car might be; b) If the price is suddenly approaching £25k then you're now in the league of a STi or Evo 7 - and they're also very nice cars.
4) I'm sure - to be honest - there are also a few people who have been swayed by the Jeremy Clarkson review. Despite nearly every other review raving about the car, some people have taken what he said as gospel and bailed out, possibly without ever sitting in the car or driving it for themselves.
