Cheers, got a few bits in there, an Arc induction kit, Racing Beat exhaust, Knighsports performance cat, Knightsports ECU, HKS piping, Mazdaspeed quickshift kit, Apexi boost guage.
Also has adjustable suspenson and Volk racing alloys, plus the skirts and option body bits from the factory. Also put a Pioneer MP3 player in place of the stock crappy radio thats in the interior pic.
Got a Rotechniks Intercooler coming next week, got a Blitz turbo timer that needs fitting, and am going to be getting a downpipe in the near future.
Lots of fun and expense not had a turbo car before, and the urge to mod is too great!!

Hey Robertio, suspension is terribly hard!!
Ive got a set of stock Type-R suspension coming, until I can afford some with adjustable damping etc.
I like the wheels, RX7 is one of the few cars it suits IMO, but not to everyones taste.

Yeah, I love those pops, get some big bangs when pressing on.
Got 58000 miles on, but starts and runs fine (wood!! quick, I need wood!! got to knock on it), and performs really well, also done a semi budget for the rebuild, but I keep spending my rebuild money on mods!!
Ive got to stop doing that, Im way too irresponsible to be left with a rebuild budget, Im going to have a 400BHP monster and no money for a rebuild at this rate!!

SideShowBob me old mate.
I remember when you crapped yourself driving your ITR home for the first time. Well I expect you needed bike clips on the bottom of you trousers driving that baby home eh!?
It looks wonderful mate. Congratulations.
Any interesting comments from other motorists?

Lol, this thing is massive fun Andy, Im still getting used to people checking out the car, I just sit there with a stupid grin.
Its cool thou, people come over at petrol stations and stuff, I was just sitting in my car at one, and this guy gets his girlfriend out the car, and they're giving mine a really good look over while im just sat in it.
A teg driver actually stopped the other day, and him, his girlfriend, and I chatted for a bit about it, they really liked it, recons it may be the natural progression from a Teg.
Its an added bonus in having something that looks a bit supercarish, the Teg would get the odd glance, but this thing has people really trying to get a look and see what it is.
It doesnt have any Mazda badges, being an import, so I dont think anyone is any the wiser after seeing it
One classic was this group of kids walking past, and one of them goes "whoa, it looks like Batmans car!!" fortuanately, I like batmans car

Can you take some inside pics? Always really wanted one of these but scared of owning one! I know the ones NewEra sell all have rebuilds when they come in, so thats tempting. Whats the build quality and ride like?

The build quality where it counts is good, as in it feels solid, and is bolted together well.
Its the little things, like the pre '95 models have basically painted panels, so you scrape it, and the paint gets rubbed off.
Resists rattles reaonably well, and the seats are comfortable.
Cabin is very small, which suits me at 5"7, but a lot of people may find it a struggle, its quite narrow because of the very raised centre column (which is kinda cool really).
Ride quality on stock suspension is good, the stuff Ive got on is mega hard, so getting some stock stuff back on there.
It is a pretty scary proposition deciding to own one, as there are so many negative stories about them, but the facts are that it will need a rebuild at between 60 and 80k miles, but apart from that seem to run reasonably reliably.
You get nigles, like coolant buzzer going off when it shouldnt, or a vacuum pipe coming off, but otherwise they're fine.
Very difficult engine to work on if thats what you like to do, but not impossible, just a very full bay.
Rotary power is fantastic, I love it, very smooth, as you just have these two large roters spinning up to around 7500RPM, and the twin turbo is excellent, though it is also what makes it all so complex under the hood.
I had moments of regret, prior to a good service, as I was getting some hesitation, and missing at high revs, and the first thing you think is "rebuild!!", but I honestly think people play too much on a rotary needing a rebuild, its only once every 70 000 miles, which for me, is about 5 years driving.
A good service got mine running beautifully.
Let me know if you want any other details about it.

It may have been on the older generations that it wasnt there, but I use the engine braking fine with it, it seems to work almost identically to a normal engine, only not as pronounced.
Dont think you'd have any probs with it Andrew, as a 30 year old, Im also from the old school of driving and I havent had to change my style at all, except for not pressing as hard on the accelerator!!

You cant compare the NSX price wise, although i do have a video of 7 standard cars being driven by 7 race drivers on a circuit in Japan. R33, R34, NSX, NSX Type-R Zero, EVO 6, EVO 6 RS, and RX7 Type RS. The RX7 whoops em all, the R34 does keep up but cant get past within the 5 laps. The RX7 comes from 4th to take both the NSX's who both had pole position The RX7 is very close to a race car! Very nimble and very fast!
