Ouch.
Failures like that are very rare though, and the factory seems to be extremely responsive to the few problems owners have had.

(Ps. I have no connection with Noble Cars, other than owning one!)

Don't fret one of the reasons Lee chose the Duratec is that's it's very reliable.
One of the factory demo cars has appparently done something like 50-60k miles now without any major problems...

Jim,
The guy said something about the car being a experimental car, so I would think it's not like the one you own

Colin, you never mentioned it may have been an experimental car.
If it was then problems are an almost cert to allow for unknown happenings to surface in order to progress to the next change in the car's development.
These cars hardly represent customers cars.
Also the fact that the car was at Millbrook say's it probably shouldn't be out on the public highway, as the last thing Noble want is to have a car of their's broken down at the side of the road. Not good PR!

Spoon,
although the car might have been an experimetal one the guy did say it was the exact same engine that goes into the road model.
Cheers

The 3l v6 duratec they use is good for a *lot* more than the 340bhp it currently makes. The limit at the moment is the mtx75 5 speed gearbox - any more power and you'll have nothing but nice smooth shiny discs where the cogs used to be
There is a 6-speed option now though, which can apparently take more power, and it's only running 0.7bar boost at the moment...

Might be someone on the owners' lisit or pistonheads forum that could take you out for a couple of laps on a trackday...
(Not had mine on a track yet, and I drive like a wuss anyway ;-)

One Focus RS blew up it's radiator and the other a wheel bearing, and the volvo S60R wasn't without incident!!!
Given how hard they were being driven, I am not surprised!

So, Jim owns one. let us know for how long... and what has:- gone wrong/doesn't work/hasn't worked/needs changing you know reality not hype... miles etc... rattles... real info please!
It's not been trouble free. It's been back to the factory once with a slight engine problem. I phoned them on a Sunday when it didn't start, and they came and collected it the next day (I was off to Italy on holiday for a few days the day after). They sorted it all out, and returned it to me at my convenience when I got back from hols.
The only other problem I've had is with a slightly sticky handbrake, which the dealer is sorting out at the moment - they've tried adjusting it, but the problem returned, so now it's getting either a new handbrake cable or a new caliper.
That's it though. Nothing else has gone wrong, and I have no complaints about the car or the service I've received. I still have a silly grin on my face every time I drive it :-)
The car does not rattle. Although the radio remote control that I stuck to the dash seems to have something loose inside - blame Sony for that though... ;-)
