VX220 Turbo on TopGear
#1
I was never a big fan of the vx220, being an elise owner i prefered the badge, however, watching topgear and the way it was danced around that track, sign me up, very tempted indeed.
if only lotus would produce an elise with big horses............

Bit too small for me, I could get in but I doubt I would get out . I still prefer the Elise styling I just dont like the chrome grill and V on the front, it just doesnt suit the car IMHO.

Hmm...
The same Clarkson as moaned about the understeering Elise MkII - Fairy snuff... until the man from lotus came and drove it around the track sideways
Not saying he's not right, but you have to wonder..
Still, want a VX220T (please!)

Clarkson always berates his own driving yet he seemed to be controlling the oversteer pretty well(apart from the spin). It looked like it was going to snap round and he'd just pull it back into line.Well done Lotus/Vauxhall.

The Vx has 215 bhp per ton, the EVO8 has 215 bhp per ton. The VX did a lap in 1.33, the EVO in 128.9........does four wheel drive always win?
Stig has to fight the VX like Senna, in the EVO he looked like he was going shopping!
Know which i buy!

But unfair comparing a 2 seater mid engined semi track day special with a 4 door 4 wheel drive saloon.
I'd have the vx as a second car (albiet as an Opel)
If I had to own just one car it would be the Evo/scoob

Got my VXT a month ago, got rid of a STi Type UK PPP to get it.
I wouldn't go back - 540kg lighter, and boy does it show!
I was on track at PalmerSport a couple of weeks ago in one of theirs. They are running a fleet of VXT's, and they have stood up to three months of thrashing six days a week, and the only mods are different brake pads - they are even on the standard RE040 road tyres.
They have incredible cornering ability and are very forgiving, even in the wet (but we did lose count of the number of spins on one wet pushing on session ).
Go test drive one, great fun.........
