£ 4250 +VAT.......it's 22.5 hours labour apparently !
That includes the Milltek Downpipe and sports Cats (£1100), the K04 turbos (£1500) and a serious amount of rolling road time for the re-map.
This set-up should be good for around 400BHP and 450lb/ft. You can add RS4 intercoolers and a Milltek cat back exhaust to get a few more BHP...

S4s are a dollope to drive, hopeless as sports cars and it doesnt mater whats mods you do to them, great motor way stormers.
Worst drivers car i have ever owned, damn fast in a straight line, very nice interior, loved the avant boot, much less leg room in the rear than my scooby??, very very bad mechanical quailty, spent alot of time in the dealership. It took Audi 3 years to sort out the turbo hoses with about 9 revisions.

I had a 993 targa as my daily drive, it took a while to master and when you think you've got it, it bites hard!
The difference the set up can make on the 911 is unreal, In under a year I had to have 4 wheel computer alignment carried out by porsche twice at a cost of £250 a go.

At Brands last week I 'did' the offside turbo on my Audi S4
The 3rd party Warranty company refuse to cover the damage (no surprise there then)....so....
I'm having it rebuilt with K04 turbos at AmD. When it's done it should have 400+ BHP & 450 lb/ft torque......Should go a bit after that

You write some very short questions. The car needs new cats to be able to flow more exhausts gasses without melting (which is what the standard exhuast does with K04s fitted)
Davy....should be interesting in a straight line at least !

Apparently it will produce more torque than a RS4 with slightly more BHP....of course a RS4 can be taken to 500+ BHP so we're comparing a Standard RS4 (380 BHP)

I saw some very nice AMD demonstrators at this years GTi International show in Ipswich. I think most of them had around the 400 - 550Bhp mark, they were absolutly beautiful, but very expensive!

There was a period of about 18 months when S4s where produced with brittle turbine blades, alot of them where changed under warranty
Theres 2 verisons of the K04 turbo the RS4s was designated K04s no idea the difference.
My MTM S4 had 520nm of torque, used to do 100-120 in 5.5 seconds in 6th gear!! (got a vid somewhere) and would red line at 7100 rpm in 6th (in germany of course) with the speedo of the scale. Some 1 calced at being 186mph based on final drive ratio. I had mine badged as A4 1.8 back in 1999 It was the ultimate sleeper car. BMW 2.0 with the manidtory M badges and 17" rims would never give up even thou it would put a mile on them in 10 seconds . The guy after me got caught averaging 145 in it
Them main difference between the S4 and RS4 engine (apart from all the RS4s internals are much stronger and lighter) is the S4s engine is set up (cam?) from mid range punch and dies in the top revs where as the RS4 loves the 6000+ band pulling much harder up there. Theres also the problem of cooling the S4, the RS4 has a completly new front end welded onto the A4/S4 platform that allowed Audi to tripple the air flow over the RS4s engine (didnt help the brakes thou).
Both cars are total dollopes to drive flat out suffering from uber understeer (and not the mythical understeer that the press talk about on the STi), pedals and a steeringwheel that are attached to the car by 6"'s of jelly and the standard brakes are terrible, 10 mins of spirited driving on public roads in my S4 had the front brakes smoking worse than a beagle in a science lab.
These cars are uber motorway stormers, i "followed" a few big bikes in mine and it used to stay glued to them, quite impressive.

There's no point in taking it to shows and stuff 'cos it looks like a Black 1999 A4....it will just happen to have 400 BHP...
The cat thing is because
a..it's a legal requirement
b..the ECU goes nuts without them and reports all sorts of error codes.
I'm not sure about the 'dollop' remark though....cheeky sod !
