It's a long shot, but, can anybody recommend a set of tyres for a Mazda MX-5?

My wife is currently running Yokohama tyres that came with the car and they are f**king dangerous!

What type should we go for?

I don't like the yoko's on ours either, done 17K and there hardly worn yet, these are 195/50/15.
Will probably try F1's when they need changing in about 5 years time

 

Eagle F1's (GSD3) - sis has them on her MX5 following my recommendation - can't beat em, one of the best tyres on the market!

195 50 15's hers are, cost about 45 a piece.

 

Toyo t1-s Proxies are another popular choice. Cheaper than F1's with the only slight downside of a softer sidewall. I run them, and just give them a few more psi when on track.

 

Thanks for the posts guys. I actually run F1's on my Scooby but I was wondering if the recommendations varied between AWD and RWD cars. We'll get some F1's this weekend...
