Honda Accord, VW Passat or Audi A4?
My dad is looking to change his car and has a budget of £10,000. He has decided that it will be either a Honda Accord, VW Passat or Audi A4. He is leaning towards diesel but i've told him that as he's retired and his anual mileage is 8k, savings won't be that great. A quick search on Autotrader shows that he can get a year old Passat, two year old Accord or three year old A4 for his money. I'm convinced he should get the Honda but he is leaning towards the VW. He will only buy from a dealer as he wants warranty back-up.
Anyone got any real life ownership experiences or even opinions that I can print off and show him?
Cheers guys.

I've had an Audi A4 for the last three years. It's a 2.0ltr petrol Sport and has not let me down at all in 50 K miles. All it has needed is 4 front tyres and 1 set of brake pads.
I am changing it now and am getting an Accord Diesel, quieter than the Audi and 50mpg.
I would recomend the Audi to anyone, infact my brother is going to buy mine off the leasing company. I would have another Audi, but their Diesel is a few years behind the competition.
Cheers

I've had a petrol VW Passat 2.0SE for almost 3 years since new. I've been more than happy with the car - excellent build quality. Had to have a replacement catalyst under warranty, but the car has never let me down over 54000 miles.
Definately recommend a Passat, though the dealers in my experience, are poor. Too busy and successful to care about little details like customer service (IMHO).
What about a Skoda Superb? They start just over £10k
As long as he doesn't care about the badge, it'll be every bit as good as a Passat or A4, except you get more kit and space for your money. I'm seriously considering one of these to replace my Passat. I'd expect the dealers to be keener than VW and Audi too.
