Fords = Frauds - Now I know why!
Got my local Ford dealer to investigate a judder that appeared after the car (16V Probe) went in for a major service and cam-belt change.
They said it was nothing to do with them just needed a lead set. Fair enough, maybe they disturbed them changing the plugs and they did look pretty knackered.
Asked for a quote for supply/fitting as they had the car.
£75 for the leads, and an amazing £39 to fit them
I can only think thay they charge £39/hour and maybe have a minimum a hour labour charge. But for fitting some leads that really is taking the..... Especially as it's incredibly easy on that car.
Got a set from Halfords on the way home for £38 and fitted them on the carpark in 2mins before driving back
Sure enough it fixed the problem.

I have a 'factory-fitted' mobile phone that I want removed from my C32. The dealer quoted me £20 for a replacement trim ('cos the existing one has screw holes in it), and a whopping £250 labour. "It's a long job..." the dealer said, "...3 hours work"! £85 per hour! I didn't ask if this included VAT.
