They raved about these a few years back, supposed to be a fantastic drivers car.

Master cylinder shouldnt be much from a scrappy.

i remember the Autocar group test against the Astra GSi and the Escort RS2000. Autocar rated the Fiat as the winner.

I've got this mag - the Civic VTi of the time was also in that test, and got beaten into 2nd by the Tipo.

Great engine, a sound one would be a hoot to drive I reckon

that would be the problem IMHO finding a sound one.

After 13 years of use i think the Fiat would be showing it's age the worse compared to the other 3.

Ment to be good cars - has to be worth a look, especially if its cheap.

0-60 in 7.9 and 150bhp or so isnt half bad.

All Tipos had galvanised bodyshells so rust should only be cosmetic, unless it's had a moody body repair.

The electrics can be iffy, but IIRC the 16v had a "proper" instrument pack, not the star-wars displays which are a bloody nightmare (mate had a 1.6 with the star-wars pack which flashed like an arcade game ...)
