i raced one of the supercharged saxos at crail last weekend,i had raced 4 already came up against this one not knowing it was supercharged so i stuck the flamer kit on thinking this will be easy,he left me standing,i couldnt believe it.
i raced him again later in the day and made sure i kicked his ***,lucky though too close for comfort.

Dont worry about the saxos, they may be quick quarter mile but wait till you get to a bend!!!!!
Not all types of bends and roads but for what its worth on anything but the tightest of roads my old vts would hold on harder than my scooby.
A track prepared s/c vts would be an amazing weekend car and I'd quite like to lay my hands on one one day

And proves what exactly?
I've seen Anglia's do sub 10's with a sorted V8.
OK.. he might blow me away.. Still a Saxo though..
No offence, but I'd rather have the real thing than a 'wannebee' .. otherwise I'd still have my MK1 XR2...
ps.. Before putting my flame suit on..
1. I'm still climbing the wannabee ladder myself.. but its a real ladder.. from B&Q.. know what I mean?
2. Great footage...

That saxo actually did a 14.2@102 when it beat that "M3" the "M3" on that run did a 14.3@104 I think. The Saxowas not getting anywhere near 12 secs! please dont make me laugh...best was 14.2 I think..

Yeah I'd be surprised if it was 12 secs, cos you need a fair wad of power to get that 1/4 with a 4x4 so with the traction off the line in a FWD it prolly needs even more power to make up the time once it gets going.
PS What colour is this Saxo from greenock, any distinguishable features? So I can have a look out!

That Saxo is a wine colour. He stopped the day I met him looking for directions and he did mention other Supercharged Saxos about the Glasgow area.
A white one in particular sounded a bit on the wild side.

thats the saxo in the video. No where near 12 secs!
This is the "M3's" times.

This is the other supercharged VTS

Not very impressive when my pals n/a MR2 (1997) did a 15.0 and last time I was there my Clio Cup (with r sport ECU) did a 14.4!

Thats the time from car 130, doesn't really match up to all its others times which were in thr 16's and also it says a terminal of -15.4 mph lol

The chavva looks more interested in beating the bmw than the performance of his own car or improving his own technique, did they forget to mention it was not a race? Oh no wait a sec, it is to max power people.

In an outing yesterday in my 205 Mi with 4 other Scoobs in my group, wet, dry, icy, snowy country roads in the Dales. After about 2 miles there was STi8, 22B and my little (cant go round bends) 205. The classic WRX and UK Std were a fair way behind.
When I pulled over (got lost ) and joined in at the back I was never far off in both acceleration and in the bends. I had to drive differently in the bends, but it wasnt that far off!!

i had a heavily modded saxo vts before i bought the wrx and considered superchargeing, the one i wanted was the 270 bhp version which with everything that needed upgradeing and fitting totaled at £8000 so thought its much cheaper to trade it in and buy a 280 bhp wrx

The saxo doesn't look that quick on the 1/4 but on the streets I bet it'll push most cars out of the way good effort, bet he pissed loads of people off
Twisties, ha! I've pushed scoobies around bends in a ka with coilovers and a roll cage

Saxo Boy, didnt you used to do 15.4 in your standard VTS ?
How much would it cost to do that to a Saxo, its very impressive but given enough money you can do anything.
