cam shafts duration lift etc
basically more duration and lift the more power but the higher up the rev range? is that how it works?
Three choices for my car 3sge :-
HKS Camshafts:
3SG(T)E
2202-RT061, Intake, 256 Duration, 9.0 lift,
2202-RT062, Exhaust, 256 Duration, 9.0 lift,
2202-RT063, Intake, 264 Duration, 9.2 lift,
2202-RT064, Exhaust, 264 Duration, 9.2 lift,
2202-RT065, Intake, 272 Duration, 9.4 lift,
2202-RT066, Exhaust, 272 Duration, 9.4 lift,
Blitz Camshafts (3SG(T)E):
13521, 3SGTE Intake, 264/9.12mm,
13522, 3SGTE Exhaust, 264/9.12mm,
don't know what i should get, the mr2/ toyota clubs can't help to much, seems the uk has lost people that know these sort of things, only want to remap ECUs now

Hello Mate,
depends on what other mods you have? Theres no point going for cams on a 3SGE unless you've got some extensive head work. Am talking bigger valves, a full port match, ported head, multi angle valve radius, etc etc etc.
Considering the 3SGE head is pretty good the way it is, you'll struggle to gain anything more then 30BHP even with cams, unless your willing to spend BIG money. Am talking throttle bodies (requires custom manifold), a standalone ECU, etc etc.
If your after some more power from the 3SGE plant why not NOS it, or drop in the daddy 4 banger in the 3SGTE ... you know you wanna.
BTW you might want to have a read of this:

Thanks
