Floor a CTR in the wet, and watch what happens.
Floor an ATR in the wet, so much better.
Check EVO mag on the ATR, "one of the finest front wheel drivers cars you can buy"
Says it all.
I love mine.

Thanks FlightMan, some useful info at last!
I forgot about the Torsen LSD that gives the Accord and Integra much better traction than the Civic - Very important in a relatively powerful front drive car.

Yes, the LSD makes the car really, never had torque steer, even under full throttle accelaration.
Also Honda put a "link" somewheree in the rear suspension, that allows a small element of rear steer. It really is a superb handling car. The recaros are excellent as well.

Accord is the one you want
Accord Type R - its pure stealth.
Off course I'm biased as I've got one, but they are a superb car. CTR is great, but a little too many MP tykes driving them.

CTR or ATR
I recently bought an ATR and absolutely love it they are .1 of a second slower to 60 than the ATR so that is really not an issue and personally I think that in the wet ( all we seem to get round here at the mo ) you will actually beat the CTR cos they will still be spinning the wheels. personally the slightly understeer handling before the tyres bite and hold on for grim death takes some getting used to. But for an all round car they are excellent. Will develop a serious drink problem if you use the car to it's potential the whole time but hey. you don't buy a car like this for 50 to the gallon motoring.

Hmm... have driven both... (aggressively)
As far as a saloon car goes the ATR I gave abuse to round a track was fantastic... the only real issue I had with it was its driving position... far too high for me and it felt quite bouncy... (not supportive and firm).
The CTR is also very capable and although people complain about wheelspin in the wet providing you have good clutch control it isn't an issue... (I make my comments based on a CTR with 230bhp.) Tyre change does make a hell fo a difference to wet handling on this car. Bridgestones it comes on are lethal in the wet. Toyos at 85 per corner fitted are a good choice...
In the dry the CTR is one seriously capable motor in the right hands.... it looks nicer IMO than the ATR and you'll get more attention from it... (do you want that).
I don't have a family to wheel around so I went the CTR route... Having said that I wouldn't buy an ATR I'd get the new ITR instead.
Both great cars but the CTR gets my vote EVERY TIME.
Hope this helped.

As has already been said depends what you want from the car.
I was at this decision pint about 6 months ago
I've driven both and decided to buy the CTR.
Accord is a fantanstic car and is slighty better in the wet due to its LSD, but it feels a whole lot bigger car to drive and does not "FEEL" as chuckable around as the CTR but I imagine there is not a whole lot in them. The accord will I imagine keeps its value better than the CTR but its a more expensive car to run (bigger engine) and needs to be run un super plus or optimax to help reduce pinking.
I do like hot saloons very much but do not like the big rear spoiler - a bit to OTT for me, The reason I bought my CTR is got a much better trade in on it, compared to an ATR, and its a 30AE version in black so has the lovely recardo seats. And I fancied a hot hatch as not had one for a good few years !
Oh and lots more tuning stuff available for CTR !
