Just bought X Pack RS2000
Just bought a white 1980 (one owner from new!!!!) X Pack RS 2000 with the full 2.1 engine conversion.
I had forgotten just how good these old Escorts still are - car will be a perfect replacement for my old Impreza.
RS will soon be at Loton Park hillclimb - rear wheel drive fun..............

Paul - getting my camera back this weekend so will post some (or try to post).
Car is mad mad mad - comes part stripped out, racing seats, harnesses + brand new 8 x 13 Minilites on it.
I am going to get it prepped to do sprints and hillclimbs - get my company logo on it etc.
These old Escorts sound great!

You lucky, lucky barsteward. Fond and very nostalgic memories of Mk II Escorts with bits from Oselli and 2.1 Pintos - ah, those were the days when I could actually understand what was happening under the bonnet.
Post some piccies and have heaps of fun.

Good choice!
I had a 1980 RS2000 Custom in black which was a great car. The X-Packs just look awesome, even today.
Does it have the 7.5inch wide RS alloys, i have only ever seen one x-pack with them, not sure if they came as std.

Look forward to seeing the pics.
I have a flat front x-pack mk2, though no engine in at the mo! I did consider fitting the RS2000 kit to it though it was too dear at the time. I also have a MK1 mex as well as the Scoob!

Heyyy!
Its quite a nice spec as well.
I had the promotional brochure on the X pack from Haynes of Maidstone for years. It had a really cool pic of a Red One.
I had a few MK1's and 2's but never a real factory X pack.
In fact I found an original rear fog switch the other day, if you want one. No wiring though

Very nice! I used to have a yellow RS with a non-factory fitted Xpack. Had a lot of fun upsetting the brand new Sierra Cosworths at an RSOC track day at Donnington many years ago!
Richard - do you have some kind of fettish for fat rears? If my memory serves me well you bought a 911 supersport a while back. A pic of the 2 together would would make me extremely envious!

Thanks for all the replies Guys.
Steve - the 911 was too heavy (and expensive to repair) for hillclimbing/sprinting, and at the time it was my only car).
Am keeping the Escort for a bit of fun/weekend toy + to annoy the neighbours
I have about 4 weeks to get it finally prepared for it's first hillclimb at Loton Park (Shrewsbury). I will be in the 2000cc - 3000cc Class as the car has the full X pack engine conversion of 2100cc.
