The lowest trustworthy figures for a standard car I have seen is 14.6 at around 97mph. People claim to have gone slightly quicker, but anything lower than this smells a bit dodgy.
I see a lot of them down at Santa Pod. Most owners struggle to crack the 15s mark.

@ the pod the times for a STANDARD CTR would be 15 - 15.5 secs
@ Jap feast this week a black CTR was doing 14.01 but must be modded
As for CTR v 280 bhp Scooby, well unless the CTR IS modded then there will only be 1 winner

I've run 14.5secs @ 97mph in my CTR, it's got full system and a BMC filter, running 208bhp and 158lb/ft.
They're fookin hard to get off the line quickly though, which is why there are some cr@p times about!

Pod is not good for fast time and 14secs dead means a very quick CTR...
As for CTR vs Scoob, the 4wd will definately help off the line, and with that much power & torque in yours he aint gonna win!

Biggest problem with the CTR is traction off the line, get that right and a sub 15 sec is possible low 14s require serious mods. A Impreza will always have a massive advantage being able to get off the line much quicker.

What terminal speed was this guy doing? Problem is with adding more power it`s going to be even harder to launch so to get that time his mid range must be awesome.....

from what i have been told he has an induction kit,de cat and nos but dont know how much bhp it gives he had it from new and ragged it straight away and fitted the nos quite early on.
do you what ctr gave the 14.01.
also reckons his car beat a 300zx in a straight line sprint near a dual c/way near the town (its renowned for dragging) beating quite easily which i cant see happening either

A few of the CTR's seemed to get mid 14's according to my husband, N/A with cat backs and ECU (Hondata I guess) including one guy who has JDM Type-R. One pulled out a 13.7 @ 106 running a JRSC. The guy who ran 14 was running a 100 shot. Average seems to be 15's tho for near standard. A fair few however it was their first time, so all in all not to bad. I think the two CTRs (black racing each other were a guy called Andy and a girl called Kate. All members of the CTR forum. Pop in and have a look Im sure times/slips and a few vids are there.

it does seem funny cause i have raced him before and was about 8-9 car lengths in front if not more but on this day he went off the road and wrote his car off (another ctr) where mine rocked but managed to stay on the road.it was wet but there must of been diesel or something on the road cause mine was moving really bad and his car lost it, he was lucky had a little cut on his head

At last years scoobyshootout, there were a couple of CTR's running 14.6's, both had induction kits, one had a an exhaust, both a smidge quicker than my RS on the day, though this year I ran a 14.57
Going on the evidence I have seen, CTR's often get the jump on scoobies from a standing start, I think this may be due to many scoobie owners reluctance to clutch dump off the line.
