Drunkern driver crashes in to my SKYLINE R34.
On Saturday I was driving back from manchester,i was cruising at 30 mph on oldham rd with a couple of my mates and then i see a stupid drunk woman driving directly towards me so i swerve out on to her lane she clips the kerb and bang straight in to my NSF corner, and then she try's to drive off!! good for me her wheel had come of so she couldnt go anywhere.
Police came breathalysed me and then her and then arrested her for being almost 4 times over the legal limit.
Police were very helpful although took them bout 20 mins to get to the scene.
Im soo gutted coz ive wanted one of these for a while and when i get one it gets smashed by some drunken driver, and it was a uk spec one of 80.
Most likely going to be a write off !!

Think your thread title is wrong - makes it sound like it was your fault. Hard line chap, hope it gets sorted and the drunk gets more than the usual slap on the wrists

That just sucks
At least they got the driver and you held yourself in check until the police arrived.
Sadly, with the new legislation how will you replace the car [assuming you want another one].

Ow... absolutely gutted for you mate, I've always had a soft spot for the Skyline and pics like that make me feel sick. At least they got the culprit - fingers crossed for a suitable sentence.
Don't forget that you can pursue a private claim for any uninsured losses (time off work, loss of value, insurance excess etc) directly against her if your own insurance company doesn't do their job properly. Most policies include about £100k work of legal expenses cover - use it.
It's worth mentioning the fact to your insurance company that the car is, as Bajie points out, pretty much irreplacable. Maybe they could be persuaded not to write it off if it looks marginal - or maybe if they do, you could buy it back and have it fixed yourself. Unless the chassis is bent it doesn;t look all that bad from your photos

Typical, get a nice car and some muppet trashes it for you.
Hope you get everything sorted quickly as this sort of thing can drag on. At least the stupid woman didn't get away however I suppose you could count yourself lucky that it was 'only' the car that got walloped, not yourself.

I would say write it off TBH, wont be the same mate, and any little niggle with it you will just get upset with it.
Same happened with my SLK a while ago. Written off in flooding. Car itself looked fine. But written off and they wouldnt let me buy it back. Bar stewards

Makes my blood boil. I don't think I could have stayed calm while waiting for the police.
I do hope she gets the book thrown at her...and then some.
Let us know how you get on. Genuinely sorry to hear your story.

Well at least you are OK and that's the important thing.
We all look at look at things like this with a mind of worst case.
I had an 'off' in some bad weather earlier in the year and walked away and the car had minimal damage. Really hit home how lucky I was as 3 days later just 5 yards from the hole in farmers bush which I made was a police appeal sign as the next person to do what I did killed his passenger a 19 year old woman. Makes you think ... a different day - 5 yards ...
