Are Jag XKR,s the supercharged ones?
Had a small dabble with one tonight joining the motorway. He was on the inside ,I was on the outside coming off roundabout onto sliproad of motorway. He saw me and gunned it,I nailed it and overtook him, needless to say I joined the motorway first, and promptly slowed down to motorway speeds!!!.It was busy.
I pulled onto motorway and stayed in the inside lane to let him past .He was a bloke of mature age, 50 ish,but good to see him enjoying his motor(thats if he enjoys getting spanked by Scoobies!!)
Noticed it had the bonnet louvres,so thats why I think it was the supercharged one.Whats their 0-60 time? anybody know?

Yep, the XKR's are supercharged 4.2 litre V8, 400bhp, 408 lb/ft... 0-60 in 5.2 according to EVO mag. To be honest your probably better at looking at a 30-70mph time for the type of duel you describe.
At 234bhp per tonne for the Jag, maybe he wasn't pushing at 100%, as I reckon he'd have thrashed a standard scoob (assuming dry, straight road from a rolling start). Still, nice to have a play with some decent motors!

They made two types, one with a supercharger and one without.
Having been a passenger in a supercharger one (and it was driven hard), I would say that most Imprezas would have a hard time keeping up, let alone over take one!
If your car has reasonable power (300-325bhp), and he had a supercharger... he wasn't trying!

The non-supercharged version is badged XK8 and doesn't have bonnet louvres.
A workmate has an XKR, a standard UK scoob would be blown ino the weeds if the XKR driver was trying. An Sti may hold it's own until 80-90mph but the power and aerodynamics of the Jag at high speed mean awesome acceleration.
At 100mph the XKR surges forward until it quickly hits the 155mph limiter.
Cheers
