I've not had one, but they are quite a rare car, with the added bonus of out accelarating a mk2 Golf 16v up to 60mph from their 'puny' 1.3 engines!
At least that's what I remember reading at the time!!

How on gods earth can you get 150bhp out of a swift??? I had one when I was 19 and it was chipped, cams and pipe etc and was pushing out 133 on the rollers.
Was a flying machine for a 1.3 and, at the time, confused lots of other road users.

That's excellent bhp/litre-modern cars struggle to get that and I think they only weigh 800/900kg so bhp/ton is superior too.
I can't think of many 80/90's hothatches getting 150bhp in NA form other than the GTE.The 90's saw the RS2000,Sunny GTi,Rover 200's all around the 150 mark but needed 2litres to do it.The CRX was around that too with 1.6litres.
Cars from last part of 90's started performing a bit better but still not many over 150bhp.

well all u have to do is have a seach about these cars through the net some running turbos and stuff meant to be doing seriously fast 1/4 in australia not sure about the times though.
also as the man says that much power in a light car with little weight across the front wheel makes very hard work getting grip!
