GF has broken the saxo
Ok maybe that was a little dramaitc, what she has done, is blocked the pipe where the dipstick goes into
looks like the rubber seal from the dipstick has dropped into the pipe and is stuck about halfway down, whats the best way to fix this????
btw its a 98 plate saxo 1.1 desire, and will the car be ok to drive a short distance, as you can probaly tell im no mechanic
thx

not sure but some can be un-bolted from the block/sump and then the blockage forced out....... also cant see a problem drivin carefully somewhere to get it sorted.

I guess you don't want it to fall down and rattle around in the sump...
If you take the dipstick out, would the oil pressure not force the blockage out? I assume most people have driven around without the dipstick fully pushed home and then been amazed at the amount of oil covering the engine bay shortly afterwards

the sump is filtered and designed for heavy **** to stay at the bottom in the sludge
will cause no probs.
earlier cars even had magnets in the sump to attract stray metal particles.

untill that bit of rubber get's lodged somewhere and it goes bang, take the sump off quick mate and get it out, not a big job, but could turn expensive if left there. just my 2p, dont say I didnt warn you.

Probably trying to add oil by pouring it down the dipstick hole....
....don't laugh, a good friend of mine who drives quite exoctic cars actually did that and then complained it took ages to fill. He is currently driving a 350Z but had a Tommi Makinen edition Evo before that . He now leaves any fettling to the dealer.
