Question Fabia vRS or Fiesta ST

If this was the narrowed down choice based on 'er indoors preferences which would you buy? For me the Skoda getting round a track quicker than a Cooper S is a big draw!

I think it'll all boil down to whether you can live with the narrow but extreme power band of a turbo diesel. The Festa looks better but is a lot more expensive to both buy and run.

I'd go for the Fiesta ST.

Looks like a cracking little car.

Fit the 2.3 duratec out of a Mazda truck, loads of tuning goodies available as the caterham boys have got into these engines, 300bhp without a turbo.

I thought the vrs beat a standard cooper not a cooper S? as it was based on price, and the cooper and vrs are similarly priced.

I'd have the vRS anyday, build is way ahead of the Fiesta, I reckon it looks much better with those chunky modern looks, will do much more MPG and hold its value a lot better. As standard some mags have recorded 0-60 in the low 7's. Also very easy to tune the vRS, 180bhp is only a few hundred quid and it would really shift then.

Not much in favour of the Fiesta other than it probably does handle slightly better outright, but thats about it.

Oh and I'd rather be driving something with a Skoda badge on the front than a Ford badge - wouldnt have said that 10years ago!!

I'd go for the Fabia, although it pains me to say it.

If you want more info on them, have a look at www.briskoda.net loads of info and owners on there.
