Lightbulb A good motorway cruiser,

but has also got some ummph in and around town ! !
Something that will give the boy racers out there a good run for their money and not get left standing at the lights by a corsa or saxo. And has also got the kick behind it whilst on the motorway.

What do you reckon ? Bmw, Audi, Merc, etc.....

BMW Touring
These are nice looking cars. Someone near to where I live has a silver one with lovely alloys. Really does look the part.

A6 Quattro
A mate of mine once said these are not bad on the motorway, but out and about they are pretty sluggish. They are big and bulky and like to drink. You have to really rev them hard to see anything that is close to some kind of performance !
The shape of them is nice, alot better than the old looking one. Which model do you have? The old model isn't bad looking but the new one just looks really modern and smooth. Why are you selling ? Getting something quicker?

Bit of an outsider...
Saab 9-5 Aero (hot)

Used to have an e36 328 coupe and its much much quicker in a straight line... just don't show the Saab a corner.

Very highly spec'd and very very quiet.

Around town its not too bad 0-60 in 7.7 i have the manual version and they handle extremley well only down side is they are not as nimble or involving as a scoob and yes if you thrash it the mpg is not very good but on the motorway - Oh Boy!! also probably the most well built and reliable car i have ever owned ohandits a new shape 97R reg

Another outsider but they are now cheap as chips! How about Volvlo T4 - you can get great motor performance, heated leather seats, etc for less than 5k nowadays. TYhey can be chipped or tuned (boost controller, etc) ti a healthy 260bhp and thumping 300lb/ft torque as well! Mind you - they are a bit tricky going round corners.......

You don't mention your budget but I had a similar goal when replacing the Impreza and was on a very tight budget. I came up with a £2k Pug 406 3.0 V6 with 70k on the clock. At that price its a 'throw away car' - and I did just that when I blew my first one up racing at crail It has all the toys you'd realistically want and can spank the corsa's/saxo's no problem especially when up and running. Performance wise they are somewhere between a 172 and a 172 cup and probably accelerates harder than both those above 80mph.

SAAB 9-3ss Aero, 210 BHP standard and for £500 237 BHP with a flash upgrade. Ohh and it can handle the corners due to the passive rear wheel steering.

Looks great, can handle lots of motorway miles and goes very well when you need it to.
