Aye, not sure where you get the £4k figure from though. You can have a fully rebuilt engine fitted for about £1800-2000. I prefer to do it myself though, and the rebuild will cost about £1k hopefully.

Slowly
Finally have a garage now, so its sitting in there ready for its new engine, and currently having some Corbeaus fitted.
Engine is stripped now and ready to be shipped off for some checmical cleaning, head skim, crank regrind etc then I can build it up again.
Once built, then need to install the TB's/Emerald and pray it works
In the meantime, i'm selling the 405 Mi16 and hopefully buying another std 1.9 GTi, so i'll have a std road 1.9 and my Mi16 track weapon.
Its all taking longer now though since moving house as I need my spare time for decorating/house maintenance etc

Looking forward to you eventually getting the old girl out on track DW ....... I retire in 30 years so you had better crack on though mate
I hope your 8 valver isnt quicker though
Gary
New to scoob ..... I know there are a few bad conversions out there. Its a long standing joke between me and DW. Everytime I go on track and an Mi or some such car is about it seems to break down.......

I know, need to push on but the rebuild is scaring me, never done one before.
Just ordered Dave Walkers EMS book though for the management side of things, so hopefully that should help once its rebuilt
