205 Anti roll bars
Do they have them for a start? By the looks of the rear they dont, just a torsion bar and i couldnt see at the front......
So without jacking her up and having a proper crawl under, what do they have if anything and can you get uprated versions / from where???
Cheers

Yes there is a front one, as I had to have the anti roll bar drop links done on my old one!
As for the rear, don't think so as you said! You must be able to get uprated ones, but don't know of any OTOH.....

I priced up the torsion bar this morning and it was over £300 so to hell with that. Havent been able to find the front anti roll bar yet ..... in uprated form anyway.
Cheers Jawa and if you happen to find them on your travels giove me a shout please.

There is an rear ARB fitted to the GTI, locating INSIDE the rear beam.
You need to remove the elliptical shaped metal plates (which anchor to the trailing arm) to gain access to it.
I upgraded from the standard 20mm to a PS 24mm ARB...and got quite a bit of wheel pickup It is a much easier to change than the torsion bars!
I also upgraded the front ARB to one off a 309 GTI as it is 1mm or so thicker.

As said the ARD is inside the beam.
How to get it out is pretty easy.
Take the little plastic grub out of the end of the elipticle <sp?> end plate, remove the retaining bolt on the other side ( 13mm head IIRC ), then on the side you removed the plastic grub thingy you need to screw in a M12 (IIRC) bolt and use this to push the ARB out of the beam.
Failling this you can resort to driving it out with a puch and suitably sized adjustment tool
At the front the ARB runs along the rearside of the engine, just beside the steering rack. If you don't want to change the front ARB check the droplinks are in good condition and upgrade the bushes to Proflex ones, that should tighten up the front end ok.
