Default Opinions on the c32 amg...and this one in particular...

Im thinking of getting a c32 AMG, instead of getting an m3 (Ive had an e36 m3 before).......

Everything about the c32's sounds promising, other than the cost of brakes....

Does anyone own one of these? If so, how often/costly is servcing ? How much do brake pads/discs cost to replace?

P.S. Brakes are in excellent condition, the horror stories about AMG brake costs relate to the w202 C43 etc.

New discs cost about 110 each (ish) where as the old C43 ones were about 250-300 (ish), when I bought the car this was my main concern.

P.S., try getting an insurance quote on a C32, you'll get a pleasant surprise, I promise you, hardly believable given the performance!

I was amazed by the insurance quote, it is listed by many as a group 17, astonishing for a 350bhp car, it costs me the same to insure as my old 330ci. An M3 (and even the old C43) would have cost over £1000 more a year to insure (liverpool postcodes I'm afraid!).

I am with Privilege, try them and Admiral too.

I've got one. Had the brakes done at a MB dealer recently and it was no more expensive then I paid for high performance pads on my Stis. Tyres were expensive though but I did'nt bother to shop around.
Is this the same car thats on for sale on the MLR ie black with the BBS alloys? Looks gorgeous, wish I'd bought black!

Same car, I thought I'd advertise on there as my cousin is after an Evo 8 so a possible trade for one would have been beneficial to us both. I have always thought AMG mercs look best in black.

Its not me that is after an Evo, my cousin is, just thought I'd try and kill 2 birds with one stone.

I am getting a ban soon and want to get a convertible the GF can use at weekends in the summer, plus it'll be nice to be driven round with the roof down, the GF doesn't really drive the C32 so it would be sitting on the drive for 12 months if I kept it.
