Not quite as nice as yours Sulli!!!
Fancy swapping wheels!!!LOL
How's yours going?
@fatherpierre. stated figures are 260bhp for mine as it's a tiptronic but it has a few toys so it's running around 280bhp.
Think the standard figures are somewhere around 6secs to 60mph and 140-150mph top end.
Very nice car and have to say better build quality and comfort than my classic wagon.

It's going great Dave, cheers.
I'll keep the wheels thanks
, though not looking forward to when i need to get new tyres - then i'll wish they were 16s!
I concur with you about the build quality and comfort. Also more useable power, no lag, and mine is quicker than my Scooby once it gets going - think mine is 280+Bhp. Plus, no-one knows what it is, you never see them, so they're less nickable, and more able to surprise so called Super Cars![Lol](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol.gif)
By the way, I have you to thank for putting me onto these cars, after seeing you had bought one, I looked into them, and discovered my perfect car (for the moment). And Waggy Doo to thank for letting me know about his mate's one for sale, which I bought - never looked back

Dave - does that mean that the standard tiptronic ones are detuned?
I drove a Jap import galant VR4 with tiptronic at a mitsi dealer a few years back. The early spool up etc was great, and I like the 6 cylinders. However, the gearbox annoyed me, and the straight line performance was IMHO very disappointing (E.g. drop it a gear at 70, it couldn't leave my brother who was following in a Citreon AX GTi 1.4!). I always assumed I must have driven a particularly bad example.

Not all VR-4's are equal; earlier models used a 6A12T 2000cc V6 producing 240 PS (and a 4G63 before that...); later ones (EC5A's) use a 6A13 making 280 PS and are slightly quicker than the equivelant EC5W Legnum.
Earlier EC5x's automatics were 260 PS btw

1996-98 VR4s, in auto form, are 260 Bhp, post 98, they are all 280 Bhp.
Hades, you drove a bad example by the way - mine just keeps on going where my old Scooby ran out of puff - it's a bit heavier than the Scooby (and auto, so no clutch dropping), so from standing start to 60 the Scooby has the advantage, after that bye bye Scooby

Like Sulli said, initially the Scooby would have the edge but then all of a sudden the VR-4 takes off mid-range, much, much smoother than the Scooby too.

The one I drove was definitely a 6, but if it was only a 240bhp 2 litre, that might explain something (although the dealer wasn't owning up if that was the case!). Was smoother than a scoob and hence quicker than it seemed, but my daily driver at the time was a V6, so it wasn't that fooling me: I am 100% certain it couldn't have left a standard UK classic scoob at sub 90mph. From everyone else's accounts, if it was the 2.5, it clearly had a problem. Shame, as that (plus having to insure it as jap import, i.e. expensive for me at the time) put me off getting one; in many other ways very nice, smooth and comfie and a proper Q-car.
IIRC official top speed on the 280PS version was ~152mph, 0-60 ~6.1 ?
