Question Any Ford mechanics here ?

I have a prob with the wifes Ka.
The universal joint at the bottom of the steering column that attaches to the rack is knackered
I have priced a new column from Ford and it isnt too cheap so I got one sent from a breakers however it would appear to be the wrong one.
Hers is a 2000 and the column was taken from the same year however they are different.
The one on hers attaches to the rack in the same way however the joint seems to be part of the column and doesnt just attatch to the column by a pinch bolt. There is a white plastic sleeve that moves up and down the column too.
Anyone know when the column changed ?

It might be to do with power steering, I think on non PS you can just change the UJ but with PS you have to do the whole column, or is it the airbag...I can't remember but there are two columns rather than a change if you will.

My fiesta (which is the same as the Ka) knacked it's UJ, that has PS and Airbag and I had to get a full column, still 90 quid or so even with my discount!
