Have seen lots of posts with people's opinions of this car based on mag reviews and hearsay, but never actually heard from anyone that owns one.
I'm strongly considering one as I've had my fill of rally reps and my M3 cab is boring me stupid. All the mags seem to adore the car and the only downside seems to be lack of any luggage space. Servicing seems cheap and relatively infrequent, build quality seems fine and driving pleasure is reported to be up there with exotica costing 5x as much, even if the performance isn't.
Can anyone comment on the car who has actual experience of the thing?
Be really interested in people's reports from those who have actually been near one.
Cheers,
LC.

To elaborate, basically I'd like to know if the prasie the V6 has received in the press is well founded and it'd be good to hear from anyone who has any actual experience of the car.
Come on, don't be shy!![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I was VERY interested in getting one, as you'll have seen from my other thread thats floating about (25k to spend...)
I test drove one and loved every minute of it, but, and its a big but, the car was just far too impractical for me. It was only going to be a weekend car aswell, but I would have struggled to get a "big shop"
in ![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
But the look and the feel of the car was amazing, and my heart was set on buying one. That was until I saw a Nissan 350z (this is beginning to sound like a love story![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
)
Far more practical, and even now, still a rare sights on the roads.
And when I really thought about it, I couldn't justify spending upwards of 25k on a Clio. You get so much more for your money (have you seen the V6's interior ?!)
Having said all this, the V6 is a very special car, and one day I will probabaly have one as a bit of a plaything. OK the performance stats aren't amazing, but IMHO you don't buy this car on performance alone. It looks amazing though.
Oh, and Jeremy Clarkson said it was one of his top ten favourite cars...
Hope this helps
Matt

MK1 was built by TWR and suffered from poorer build quality. Power was a modest 230 bhp with a 0-60 time of 6.4 secs, and the car was prone to bad snap oversteer with no warning. Difficult to drive is a common recation to the car.
MKII is a different prospect altogether though it seems, if the press are to be believed.
Can any owners shed any light, please!?![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I am also seriously considering a "black gold"
Clio V6 MkII![Cool](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)
The one thing that worries me is depreciation.![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
My scoob is past the worst
... but even if I can get a nearly new one for 20K i'm still going to get stung!![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

I'm seriously considering one of these aswell.
Lemon, I know what you mean - just about every magazine review loves the car. John Barker at Evo said it was one of the best cars he'd ever run on the evo long term fleet and he was genuinely gutted to see it go.
Try getting a test drive at a renault dealer though.........

The vastly knowledgable and honourable Mr Akimoto feels he should point out to you lesser wrx drivers that the clio was indeed a pig in the
Mk I (230 PS) variant but the Mk II (255 PS) is a Gem the only thing they lack is a good driving position, as with all clios.
As these cars were all built in limited production runs they will remain sort after.
Anybody remember the Turbo 2 of the eighties?
Try buying one of them for less than £7500
Mr Akimoto has insider knowledge from the froggy dictator of Renault, he was 'placed' in the job as a mole for the Akimoto Industries Intelligence Agency (AIIA) in a bid to scupper those bloody french imbacills.
Avant-time (tick)
Vel Satis (tick)
The honourable Mr. Akimoto can inform you now that once they are all sold then thats it, the new clio arrives in 2006 and there will not be a new V6!
And all of you who heard the Clio turbo rumour can also shut up as that ain't gonna happen either.
As for 350Z's - rare - you wanna come to kidderminster, i know of at least four. Including a full Nismo type z kitted version, running 19's, look that one up.

Can't add any more experience, but have plenty of hearsay and reviews to cite! ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
But I thought I would add some encouragement, it's a lot of money, but all things considered it's pretty cheap, for such a small production run, mid engined, rear wheel drive car with fanastic chassis. I'd go for a nearly knew one if I were you though!

Those ads are VERY misleading!
![Nono](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/nono.gif)
They confuse the older car and the newer 255 (or Mark2).
![Nono](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/nono.gif)
The Mark 2's (2003 53 reg onwards IIRC) are £20K+
